Sanctuary Dogs Need Sponsors
Dalmatian Rescue of Tampa Bay's goal is to find loving homes for the Dals that have come into rescue. Sometimes that home can be hard to come by or the dog has such special needs that adoption is unlikely. We stay committed to these dogs regardless and they become our care-for-life or "sanctuary" dogs.
Many of these dogs reside with our founder, Susan Weber, and some others reside with a few dedicated fosters. DRTB still supports these dogs, but it can get costly as a dog ages and has more medical needs. Monthly support for a single dog can range from $30- $130+ a month. Just this past month we had to say
goodbye to 2 old spots, Emily & Buddee, who required emergency
medical attention before they crossed the Rainbow Bridge. To help fund these dogs DRTB seeks sponsors who would like to support a Dal in-part or in-total by a monthly or other term contribution. Thankfully, Emily's sponsor, Sonya Martin, has generously decided to continue her monthly sponsorship toward another sanctuary dog, but we still have many without sponsors.
DRTB now has all our
care-for-life dogs posted on the website for you to meet. If you would like to
be a sponsor of one or even more of our care-for-life dogs please contact DRTB

The Dal-Daze of Summer
We have had Dals appearing faster than dandelions in a manicured
lawn! Three more dogs (Garbo, Oreo, & Eden in picture) have come into rescue this month.
We have also placed 2 Dals into their forever homes. Garbo, renamed Chloe, found her new home
due to the sudden death of Sarah, a Dal we saved from the shelter a month ago.
We hope they can find happiness again with each other. A reworked fence has gained Freckles
his new home with kids to keep him too occupied to stray again.
So far this year we have rescued 24 new Dals & been able to help 19 Dals
get adopted into forever homes. Our current Dals seeking forever homes are:
-
Drago from Polk County who successfully completed his heartworm
treatment
-
Patches a bouncy, fun-loving Dal-mix girl from Levy County
-
Sadie who has returned to DRTB due to family medical
issues
-
Tipper an 11-year-old lady that lost her home when her
owner died
-
Harley a Levy County Dal-mix boy with dysplasia in his
right hip
-
Lady Girl, formerly of HCAS, who also successfully completed heartworm
treatment
-
Oreo a loving, yet goofy young Dal-mix from Orange County
-
Pongo from Clay
County who has begun his heartworm treatment
-
Eden from Collier County who requires heartworm treatment soon.... we NEED a foster for her treatment!
All our dogs that are adoption-ready are listed on
www.Petfinder.com. We
also have 2 courtesy posts for youngsters Georgia Brown, a Black Lab-mix, and
Finster, a Rotty-mix, who reside with Lee Sears. PLEASE
let us know if you can help these dogs with a loving home or getting them to
events so that they might get adopted! |
Going, Going, Gone.... DRTB Auctions Return!
In trying to find new ways to raise money, we've recently
brought back an oldie (but goodie) and added two brand new fundraisers.
First, we're bringing back our monthly DRTB Auctions whose
proceeds benefit us 100%. The newest one will begin on Sunday, June 1st
and run for 14 days. Check out the beautiful print
called "BEACH LOVER" by Artist Carol Chretien which is up for grabs. Second, you can now order healthy,
delicious treats for your dogs on www.USBones.com!
USBones is donating a generous portion of the sales total to our Dals. Just click on the link on
our website and it will take you right to the DRTB donation link. Third, if
being beautiful is your thing, you can now do that while helping our dogs. Just
email orderglominerals@yahoo.com to see which
beauty products can be ordered at a significantly discounted rate.
You can continue help raise funds for our dogs by using
GoodSearch or iSearchiGive, shopping through the iGive site, or purchasing any
previously undeclared charity item from Carol Chretien and letting her know you
support Dalmatian Rescue of Tampa Bay. Also, supporting us at Rally to Rescue
events benefits our group via donations of food. We are always looking for new ideas so please contact us
if you learn of any more ways we can support our mission to save the lives of
Dals at-risk.
