Happy June everyone! Welcome to our Prosperity Issue! There is no doubt that times like these test our financial mettle, but it's also true that through adversity we shine, and learn invaluable lessons. Times like these also teach us that  the most valuable commodities are, and will always be: inner-energy, Love, devotion, Awareness, character, and self-discipline. No matter the financial climate, you can always take those to the bank! See the 10 "Rules,"of Prosperity section.

re: the "I Know What You Did This Summer," title for this month's newsletter. Be one of the Lucky 14! That's how many spaces we have left for our Blue Ridge Mountain Yoga Retreat, July 22-24 in Dahlonega, GA.  (see below)

In 1975, I (Ravi) was working in a health food store in Manhattan and was determined to go to a the Winter Solstice Kundalini Yoga event in Florida. The problem was, I couldn't afford it. I said to the Universe, "I know this is meant to be, so I'm just going to do what it takes and have confidence that everything would be okay. So, I sold my Fender Telecaster guitar and told my boss, 'I know I might not have a job when I get back, but I really have to do this.' Long story short, I went to Florida, got totally inspired, received my Spiritual name from Yogi Bhajan, and when I got back, not only did I not get fired, I actually got a promotion (Manager of the Juice Bar)!

I decided that going to study with Yogi Bhajan for those Summer and Winter Solstice events, was so important, that I was going to make it a priority and commit to setting aside a week twice per year no matter what. This is what I experienced: without fail, about a month before it was time to leave, I started feeling resistance, and would come up with every kind of excuse not to go. What I did was to arrange a sub for my classes, and tell all of my yoga students that I was going, so I had to go!

Another thing which became apparent to me throughout those years of attending retreats (1975 - 2002) was that when we make the effort to extend ourselves to honor our Higher Selves, we are essentially playing with "house money." That means that (within reason!) it's a celebration! We can afford to treat ourselves well (maybe rent a car instead of taking a shuttle, or buy yourself a really nice tent, etc.). You are on a cosmic expense account and whatever you have to put out to make it happen will flow back to you. You can also count on the fact that you investment will be magnified. When we do Kundalini Yoga and Meditation in a group, it creates ripples in the Universe which flow back to us in the form of copious blessings!

We're not telling you to sell your favorite guitar or give your boss an ultimatum, but we are saying that whenever you have faith, and honor Spirit, time and space will pave the way, even if you don't see how that's possible. So, if you're on the fence, hop on over. We'd love to see you in Georgia. It's a celebration!

yantraThe Prosperity "Rules,"

(of the Universe)

Money is a metaphor. It represents units of energy. The transition from the Piscean Age to the Aquarian Age means we will have more success when we place our trust in the ways in which the Universe works rather than ways in which the world works. We've all heard these types of things a thousand times, but in concert with a committed Kundalini Yoga practice, they can become living principles.

Rule 1. Action at a Distance

Everything exists in sympathy with everything else. In the Piscean Age sharks were king. In the Aquarian Age goldfish know that the Universe is a little pond. Everything responds to even the tiniest ripples.

Rule 2. Change is Inevitable

The Universe is based on movement and change. Get on that dance floor and show us what you got! Patience is important, but if the way we've been doing things has not yielded the results we've been seeking then doing things differently is in order.

Rule 3. The Reality We Experience is an Extension of Our Minds

Did you know that the clutter on your desk are a snapshot of your thoughts? Clearing your desk is not going to clear your mind, but it's a good start! Meditate and be great!

Rule 4. What Goes Around Comes Around

Karma is an equal opportunity employer! Even if you were to live in a luxury high rise and have everything you needed delivered to you, karma would find a way past even the most zealous doorman! We have no recourse to be stay accountable. Karmically speaking, we can't receive what we haven't given.

Rule 5. Everything Contains Its Opposite

A penny has two sides and so does everything else. Look beyond appearances, which is no small feat in this media-driven world. While everyone is watching TV let righteous living and an open heart be your media.

Rule 6. Everything Is Energy

If you take this energy ball and run with it, you will score a touchdown in life!

Rule 7. Love Saves the Day!

Whatever happens happens, but through Love, miracles happen.

Rule 8. Give it Time

Everything on this list is true. Patience pays. Live on purpose. Sow the seeds of energy and fearless focus and wait for the inevitable to occur.

Rule 9. Count Your Blessings

You can't feel successful or happy later if you don't feel successful and happy now. Count your blessings and blessings will rain upon you! Money helps, but it isn't everything. Success comes in many forms. If the world would not be as well off without you, you are a success.

Rule 10. All Things Come from God and All Things Go to God

This is the ultimate mantra for prosperity. Meditate on this and live these words and you will be a Master of success!

A Parable

A King had a son whom he loved very much and whom he was grooming to be his successor. The King, knowing that his son had always been protected and had had the best of everything, arranged for his son to be sent to a farm in a distant province to work for a living so he could learn to appreciate the true value of things. The son began to miss his father very much, but worked hard, hoping to be able to return home soon. The King, for his part, began to worry that maybe he'd been too hard on his son, so he sent an architect and a hundred workmen to build his son a grand palace. He also sent a entourage of ministers bearing gifts, which included a tremendous sum of money. Rather than being overjoyed at this lavish expression of his father's love, the son became worried. He felt that all of these gifts would do nothing more than to cement his exile. The son sent his father a letter which said, "Thank you for all the gifts. but what I really hoped for is that you would allow me to come home again!"

A Prosperity Story

In 1969, Yogi Bhajan was just starting to teach in Los Angeles. One of his very first students, set up a lecture at the Asian Cultural Society. It was very successful and they walked away with a paper bag containing $1200 ($7,500 in today's money!) in donations. While stopped at a red light a homeless man came up to the car and asked for a donation of his own. Yogi Bhajan handed him the bag of money. The woman who had set up the lecture was beside herself. "Do you know how much money was in that bag?" she exclaimed. Yogi Bhajan said, 'I didn't give that money to that one individual, I gave it to the Universe. From this day on there will always be ample resources to fulfill every facet of my mission.' What he was saying was that when you put your faith in Infinity, Infinity will always provide. One of the most powerful Spiritual methods for prosperity is tithing. That's means to give a portion of one's income to a good cause. It's one of the most powerful ways of creating a relationship with the Universe, and to liberate yourself from a one-dimensional mindset around money.

Body Electric

Kundalini Yoga:

The  Body Electric All-in-One Workout

Think of those special days when you feel on top of everything, in control without having to be on high alert mode. A day when everything seems to make sense and flows and beauty surrounds you! The aim of this workout is to put these types of once in a blue moon, special days, on speed dial! And for those of you who were hoping the cardio was dance inspired? Yoga Flow Bootcamp-

Kundalini Yoga Flow Bootcamp All-in-One Workout

People are asking about the "Power Yoga" segment on this DVD. No, these are not your typical  Sun Salutes with typical Warrior poses. It's a form of power yoga, Kundalini style of course, and even includes Breath of Fire in a few of the poses. It is designed to get you off the floor (where so many KY sets take place) and use your own body weight to warm your entire body, while giving you a beautifully balanced, muscular and toned physique. We did not invent this fusion of  hatha flow and Kundalini! Yogi Bhajan himself taught KY this way with Sun Salutations before the kriyas when he first came to the West.

Note on Ringing the Bells of Heaven segment: This amazing kriya was taught by Yogi Bhajan to free up the neck and refresh our brains. Here is Ana talking about that set: "I got about seven minutes into the extended exercise called "Ringing the Bells of Heaven," when I felt a kind of chiropractic adjustment deep in my lower spine. It was a Wow! Thanks! I really needed that!" moment. I don't know if I ever would have gotten that awesome adjustment if I hadn't "kept up" and done this sequence.

This DVD reflects all of Yoga, Ancient and New! This total all-in-one workout not only gives you a longer leaner yoga body, but also a stronger cleaner yoga mind! It features Yoga Flow Parts 1 & 2, an amazing journey into the heart of yoga with Ana leading the way. This fusion between Kundalini and Power Yoga is a breath and movement strength building, flexifying, beautifying, age-defying all and everything workout. It's followed by Kundalini Core Power, Ringing the Bells of Heaven (Upper Body Tune & Tone), Deep Relaxation, Siam Kriya, an uplifting mantra chant, as well as bonus material, pre-sets, and the Matrix Menu option. The bootcamp concept means that in "keeping up," you deliver yourself to greatness, transform your body and mind, and rewrite the book of your life. This workout is for ALL LEVELS. (amazing music too!)

Getting Out of Your Head and Into Your Summer!

Dear Ravi and Ana! I just wanted to tell you a bit about my story and ask for some advice for my yoga practice. Firstly, thank you so much for your dvds! I have most of them and I thank you for making them so accessible and for 'all levels'!

I wanted to ask you for some advice for a new yoga routine to begin

this summer! My main challenge seems to be that I am very much in my head and find it difficult to listen to my feelings and understand

them, and I'm not very confident around other people. I do a dvd nearly every morning, and now, maybe once a fortnight, I can even do all of cardio stretch and strengthen! I walk maybe 3 hours a week, but KY is my main form of exercise. I want to transform from being what to me is 'OK' to who I know I really am.

Please can you advise me on a routine? And what to do if some morningsI feel tired (I find it hard to tell if it's resistance because I'm

scared of feelings coming up or if it's my body)? And how to cope with

feelings?! Sending you lots of love!

Thanks for writing and congratulations on your many life breakthroughs! We suggest that you practice try our Solar Power and Kundalini Yoga Transformer DVD's two times per week each (opening the Solar Plexus helps get us out of thinking mode and into living and feeling mode). The Kundalini Yoga Transformer will help to resolve the internal issues which block that. On the other days, alternate among our other DVD's. We also suggest that you do a meditation for 1000 days (not a typo!) for at least 31 min. per day (62 is even better). We suggest the So Darshan Chakra Kriya Mediation which you can read about under "S," on the A-Z Health Archive on www.raviana.com.

It is very possible that "feeling "tired," is masking resistance to "feelings." If doing So Darhan Chakra Kriya feels at times too emotionally cathartic, then we recommend doing the Sa-Ta-Na-Ma Meditation which is taught on Yoga Quick Fixes and Yoga House Call. Then go back to So Darshan when you feel so inspired. While you are doing both the Sa-Ta-Na-Ma Meditation or So Darshan, feel your feelings (both from the past, and what's coming up presently). while you are doing it. That is the quickest way to resolve unresolved emotions. Also, sometimes in the change of season, our glands can use a boost. Our Fat Free Yoga DVD is a powerful workout for the glands (and everything else!). Please keep us posted! We with you joy, health, and abundant blessings!

                        A "Baby" State of Mind

Hello Ana, Ravi, I am an avid reader of your newsletter, always amazed at how wise and sound your advice is. I have been doing KY with your DVD's for more than 3 years, and am considering becoming a teacher. I am happily married, with a 16-month old daughter, and we are expecting another baby soon. My story is a bit particular: I am unable to carry a child because of an adenomyosis condition. I was able to produce good eggs, to the awe of my fertility doctor, thanks to KY, and most particularly, to your Yoga Beauty Body DVD (I have spread the good word about this DVD). My husband and I have been blessed to find he perfect surrogate mother for us. She carried my daughter, and is carrying my new baby as well. My daughter is a happy baby, and I strongly believe that my surrogate mother can take credit for it, because of all that love that she managed to be surrounded with while expecting. I used to have a happy mind too, without reservation and ulterior motive, always laughing, trying to be there for people, and compassionate. I am now 39, and very conscious of the fact that, slowly, a side of me have become bitter, angry, cynical. I am not always like that, but this is like a system of defense my mind has gradually built in, and which is unfortunately often taking over, as if it were a reflex. I am for that state of mind where I could start over from what I used to be, as a child. This has become a stronger urge as my daughter is growing up, and I am afraid I may carry over bad "waves" to her. I want my children to always be happy, to be warriors, and to always feel blissful. I am seeking for advice and guidance. When I see you, Ana, with that beautiful, white aura that transcends the screen, I know that I want to feel that way, and most importantly, I know that I want to give my daughters all the keys to have peaceful and prosperous lives. Is this something that you feel possible to attain? Thank you for reading me, and for any advice that you could give me :-)

Thanks for writing and for your very thoughtful question. You're correct in your sense that a "baby," state of mind, or what is called "Beginners," mind and is a positive thing to emulate. What you are going through is an important passage of life which actually leads to an expanded self-concept. Everything contains its opposite and in the process of coming down to earth, you are also expanding in new and exciting ways. The fact that you are aware of this process and want to stay on top of it is very commendable. We feel that you will get back to your happy, baby state of mind and feel more joyful than ever because now this state is "embodied." We suggest that  you practice a meditation for 1000 days (not a typo), for 31 min. per day. A 1000 day practice is called a "Master Meditation," and is considered a very powerful attainment and is the perfect thing when one is transitioning to the next plateau in their one's Spiritual growth. We recommend Ganpati Kriya. You can read about it under "G," on the A-Z Health Archive: http://raviana.com/faq_164.html

We have titled that: Meditation to Make the Impossible Possible (We're not inferring that your situation is an impossible one!)  That meditation has many varied and wonderful applications.

At about age 36, according to yoga, our pituitary glands start secreting in new ways. The pituitary and its associate chakra, the Third Eye, represent life radar. What occurs at age 36 is that it (the pituitary, seat of Awareness) starts apprising us of our mortality. What is meant to happen is that we are on schediule to start getting serious about our inner lives. Many people react in the exact opposite and have a mid-life crisis right on cue. What it is meant for us to do is to go forward into Spirit with no regrets.

There is an important archetype called the Puer Aeternus. It means the eternal child. Most people in our culture defer the responsibilities of adulthood as long as possible and to varying degrees set up their lives in a way which allows them to float above life, resisting true emodiment. Living in that space in truly magical, but the longer we stay up there, the harder the subsequent crash will be when we come to earth, and everyone has to come to earth eventually (or earth will come to us!). When that happens it is common to feel that we've lost our joie de vivre and a certain cynicism creeps into our being, much as you describe. The antidote is to A) understand the process and have compassion for ourselves B) really commit to the things we love the most. C) embrace a Spiritual practice.

Sometimes the emotions you described can be the result of a sublimated emotion which in the context of our lives are inconvenient to express. Practicing So Darshan Chakra Kriya can be very helpful in this regard. Those kinds of feelings can also be the result of a liver imbalance. We also recommend our Yoga Cleanse DVD which helps to detox the liver. Overall, we recommend the Kundalini Yoga Transformer DVD which has a powerful "rebirthing," component.

Overall, it is definitely possible to have a peaceful, prosperous life. What the yogis have been saying for thousands of years is that is what is meant for us. More often than not, what gets in the way is our own minds. Kundalini Yoga is designed to help us be healthy, happy, and fulfilled. The more we do it, the more it does that for us. Things can't be on the upswing all of the time, but through a committed Spiritual practice real happiness will become a definite trend! We wish you joy, health, and abundant blessings!

                           High End or Low End?

I'm trying to make a decision at work regarding transferring to another dept. I'm not sure if it would be the right or smart thing for me to do. I am confused and need guidance. I was wonder- ing if a certain practice would help me see the proper way to go. I work in cosmetic sales and right now I'm at a Counter that is relatively inexpensive....therefore, we are very busy with peeps watching their money during this time of economical stress. I seem to butt heads with my boss at this current job. I might have the opportunity to move into a couple luxury lines (that are a lot more expensive - and currently not doing as well as the Counter I'm at).

I generally wouldn't have this much trouble deciding, but since my job is very stressful in that I have to sell so much per hour to keep my job, I need to make the correct decision, whether it be staying where I'm at and learning to deal with the difficult boss (because the business is there) or moving in to another line that is not doing as well financially in hopes of being able to build it..etc.

Hi, our advice is not to make any decision right now. It's probably best to stay away from high end stuff right now in this down economy. Keep doing your practice and meditating and, when it's time to make a change, it will suddenly be crystal clear and obvious, and you won't be having so much doubt. When it becomes hard to make a decision, it often means that we're meant to wait for future developments to unfold. We recommend the Opening the Third Eye and the All and Everything Meditations from from our Kundalini Yoga Meditation DVD. Those meditations will amp up your "Life Radar," to give you an intuitive understanding of what's around the next bend in your life and which decisions will be accordance with what you're meant to be doing. Please keep us posted. Sat Nam x!

                Kundalini Power Prosperity Mantra

Meditation POseHar Har Har Har Gobinday
Har Har Har Har Mukunday
Har Har Har Har Udaray
Har Har Har Har Uparay
Har Har Har Har Hariang
Har Har Har Har Kariang
Har Har Har Har Nirnamay
Har Har Har Har Akamay

When you chant "Har," your mouth is open as if in a 3/4 yawn. Don't move your lips, just your tongue. Also, pull you navel in towards the spine on each Har. Feel Har resonate at the Navel and the additional sounds at the sternum. Your eyes are 1/10 open, looking down and in towards the tip of the nose. Try chanting this mantra for 11-31 min.

This mantra prompts our mental, emotional, and Spiritual aspects to unify and expand. It makes us one with Everything. It expresses the eight facets of Infinity. Gobinday: Sustainer. Mukunday: LIberator. Udharay: Enlightener. Aparay: Infinite. Hariang: Destroyer. Kariang:Creator. Nirnamay: Beyond Name. Akamay: Desireless. Har is a Shakti Yoga (power) mantra,  the creative energy of Infinity. The four repetitions of Har empower us through all dimensions and give us the means to dissolve the barriers of the past. Yogi Bhajan cited this as the ultimate prosperity mantra. We feel that it is important to point out that chanting a mantra is not a magic pill for prosperity. What mantras can do is to plant seeds in the Universe which our subsequent actions cause to blossom. Mantras also clear the mental barriers we've constructed and generate new internal paradigms for success.
