Happy 2011! We wish you great leaps towards  Self-Mastery, graceful relationships and an Open Heart! This is the year of Neutral Mind, in which ecstasy is your anchor and clarity, non-reactivity, and Love inform your actions. We wish you a powerful practice and great gains on the inner and outer planes!

2010 was a year of lessons learned. 2011 is a year of illumination. 2010 laid
lthe groundwork. Let 2011 be your year of Victory. The Victory of Self over the limitations of self. Spirit over inertia. Love over fear.






Success in your Divine!

How to live those "big," words? What it will take for all of these victories to occur? What we need to do is illuminate and transform our blind spots. That means dealing with the things which are not consistent with the person we are meant to be. One huge blind spot for all of us is the tendency to ascribe negatively to others that which exists in us! Then of course there are those life choices which compensate for something not dealt with. Maybe you feel that you still need a "crutch," such as cigarettes or a drug of choice to "take the edge off." Or maybe you feel you're not quite getting what you need in your marriage so you've been having an affair for the past three years. Possibly you're hopelessly addicted to receiving attention from the opposite sex. It's not our place or intent to make sweeping moral judgments about how one should live. Nevertheless, what these examples have in common is that they represent a path of least resistance. Think twice about the things you do simply as a matter of course and invoke their positive polarities. Do you constantly start new projects, or embark upon a healthy lifestyle regimen, and time and again revert back to your same old habits? How to go forward and keep your momentum? Often a little reassessment sparks personal revelation and a new life.

Sometimes there are no easy answers, but when we do our practice, cultivate a Meditative Mind, and create a relationship with energy itself, we can easily recognize the Universe's gentle prompts about the right way to live and act upon them. Foregoing instant gratification creates friction. Friction sparks a fire. That's called tapas, which means austerities. That fire burns through karma and signals the Universe that a soul is lighting up the world. Other souls get the message and burn brightly as well. Let your small victories add up and see what your life can become! We're all in this together. Let's each set a positive example for graceful existence and the glory of Inner Radiance! 2011 invites us to be Masters. That means to be accountable. That means to live impeccably. To take the High Road and direct our minds and emotions towards Spiritual growth. The High Road is calling and Kundalini Yoga/Meditation is our ticket to ride! (see Meditation of the Month below for a practical tool for Self-Victory!)

Sundial Beach Resort is just 30 minutes from Southwest Florida International Airport (Fort Meyers: RSW), and two hours from Miami and Tampa, and 3.5 from Orlando.

Participants will have their own private bedroom in a villa with a full kitchen and living room. Spouses, children, friends, and significant others who are not attending yoga classes can come for just $50 - 100 per night! Calm Voices

I was watching Your program Yoga Bliss Hips. I have to say, I admire both of your voices. Sounds so calming. Im a Yoga instructor, and I would love to sound like you both, when I teach my class. How do I set my voice to be as calm sounding without whispering that my students won't be able to hear me?

Thanks for writing and congratulations on keeping up with your Kundalini Yoga practice! Re: our voices: We think that it is not so much a matter of vocal training (although it does help to keep one's diaphragm open) but in cultivating expression from the Heart Center. As we are recording we think of all the people out there who are going to be doing the workout and the sacrifices of time, space, and comfort necessary to sustain a personal practice. That opens our hearts right up. That open heart is the quality, we think you are recognizing in our voices. The Heart and Throat Chakra exercises on Our Journey thru the Chakras DVD as well as the Powerful Communication from the Heart Meditation on Kundalini Yoga Cardio, Stretch, and Strengthen will be very helpful. The examples we have cited here: working from the outside in (focused Kundalini Yoga techniques) and inside out (cultivating an Open Heart) will definitely give you the results you are seeking. Also, when our intention is pure (cultivating a gift which we can use to heal, uplift, and inspire), we can literally ask the angels (powers of God) for that gift to be granted, and it will be!

As an aside, you can ascertain which chakra
most colors a person's basic orientation by the quality of their voice. A 1st Chakra person's voice often has a grating quality. It's gravel from the pit. Self-referential. Often low talk. A 2nd Chakra person's tone is seductive. They want to draw you in. A 3rd Chakra person says all the right things, but you never know if they're sincere or not (politicians and used-car salesmen). A 4th Chakra person's voice is loving and concerned. You know they care. A 5th Chakras person is direct and commanding. Their words resonate deeply. A 6th Chakra person will either talk about the "moon and stars," or show you the truth with icy clarity. A 7th Chakra person is completely graceful, even when they're ripping you to shreds with their words. And for the 8th chakra, silence speaks volumes! We wish you joy, health, and infinite blessings!

 Chakra Alignment

Well wow long story. I did see something on TV about chakras realigned with crystals. I have had a lot of negative energy, feelings and people in my life recently. I read your recent newsletters saying your aura should be 9 ft. radius. I want that. I feel that I may just need help in doing so. When I saw the program about crystals re-charging your energy and re-aligning your chakras, I thought I would seek out someone to do that for me. Thanks I do appreciate your time and effort speaking with me.

Thanks for writing. Kundalini Yoga is the Yoga of Self Reliance so we don't have to rely on an "expert," to balance our energy or open our chakras. Our individual auras (which are a blend of all the chakras) should extend 9 feet from the body. This insures that rather than other people's energies draining us, we will uplift them! Have you tried our Kundalini Yoga DVD's? The best way to strengthen your energy field and align your chakras is to do a daily Kundalini Yoga/Meditation practice. Chakra alignment is not something which happens once. It's a day to day process. Our DVD's: A Journey thru the Chakras, Kundalini Yoga for Beginners & Beyond, and the mantra/mudra chant at the end of Dance the Chakras Yoga Workout (in addition to the rest of that DVD), are all great chakra balancers. The chakras have an alternating clockwise and counter-clockwise spin. Stress and emotional duress cause them to spin the wrong way. Then we don't quite feel like ourselves and make bad decisions. The Five Tibetan set on  Kundalini Yoga for Beginners & Beyond will insure that your chakras are spinning correctly.  Also, to keep your aura big and bright we recommend Kundalini Yoga for Energy & Super Radiance.                       Dancing Lightly Through Life

I think of you two very often and thought it was time to say hello ! I hope you remember me from your Teacher Training in 2003 in New York. I was just shy of finishing the course, but I have been teaching all these years. I would love to finish my training and would like to know how to complete my course. However, as before my career stability as a massage therapist has kept me from fulfilling my highest potential ! My yoga class for the last two years in Palo Alto has been very successful , but it's only once a week. Unfortunately, I lost my ability to live there and have moved back in with my parents at the age of 48 ! I left everything I owned in the apartment because i had no money for storage . I am online everyday searching for a job with no luck so far after 3 months. I practice yoga everyday and have included SUBUGH KRIYA. Is there any advice or help you could give me to break this pattern of always just getting by and never putting down roots in my LIFE. I am working hard to stay strong ,but my spirit is fragile. I 've asked RAM DAS for a miracle and my parents don't want me here anymore and I have no where to turn. I would honor your wisdom and support !


Sat Nam! Its good to hear from you! We are sorry that you are experiencing a life challenge. We have read your email and feel that you need to take radical action. The pattern we feel is exemplified by what Jung called the "puer aerternus," (eternal youth) which manifests as dancing lightly through life and not being willing to truly embody and invest yourself in something without an escape clause. It is the desire to hold onto adolescence for as long as possible. Sound familiar? Our culture is mired in this! It is possible to dance lightly through life for a while, but at a certain point, usually in one's 40's, a whole back log of karma hits full force. You can only hold time and space in abeyance for so long!

The answer to your predicament was in your email as well. The fact that you gave a Kundalini Yoga class which was "very succesful," indicates that you should probably follow up on that and teach everyday. Teaching Kundalini Yoga would be a total win/win. It will give you stability and purpose and will make a huge difference in people's lives.

Re: 2011:  2 relates to the 2nd chakra, adolescent yearnings and the process of coming into our own (individuating). 0 magnifies that energy. To integrate our 2nd chakras we need to turn emotion into devotion. That means to commit to something and making what we commit to sacred. 11 is a Master Number. Its dialectic is jet-setter, spiritual dabbler/Spiritual Master. 2011 invites us to forge a relationship with our souls and Infinity and to live in greatness simply as a matter of course (Spiritual Path).
 
We feel that you should practice the So Darshan Chakra Kriya meditation which is on our Yoga Quick Fixes, Yoga House Call, and Yoga Bliss Hips at least 62 minutes each day. This will help you to stabilize (your mind and emotions), open up your lower chakras, activate your Navel, and give you the means to be successful. Begin to let go of the habits and ways of being which are not consistent with a Teacher. Dedicate yourself to this. It would be good if you finished your training with us. Mantra for Prosperity & Divine Knowledge

ana meditatingSitting with a straight spine. Neck in a slight Neck Lock (Back of neck elongated. Chin pulled back slightly like a soldier at attention). Hands in gyan mudra (index fingers and thumbtips meeting). Eyes 1/10th open and looking down and in towards the tip of the nose. Chant:
 
HAR HA-RAY HA-REE WHA-HAY GURU

When you chant Har, your mouth is open as if in a 3/4 yawn. Only the tongue moves, not the lips. It sounds like "huh-d." Feel Har at the navel. Haray ("huh-ay") at the sternum. Haree at the throat. Wah at the brow. Hay at the top of the head. Guru above the top of the head. You can contract the rectum and sex organ, and then as you chant Har, pull the navel in as well. Keep mulbhand applied until Wahay Guru.  This is a gentle "Laya" version of this meditation. Practice this for 11-31 minutes. You can also chant this mantra throughout the day while walking, driving, cooking, etc.

Har Haray Haree means: Seed, flow, completion. Wahay Guru is Ecstasy beyond words. It's the exclamation of praise and wonder which spontaneously occurs when you break through from the known to the Unknown/Unseen.

This magnificent mantra encompasses the 6 great ancient schools of philosophy and Spiritual practice in India (and beyond). This mantra is for self-excellence, inner knowing, abundance, healing, and super-creativity. It will deliver you to your Destiny and increase the magnitude of your Mission.

This mantra will help you develop a neutral mind which is the highest yogic attainment. From that perspective you can easily recognize and let go of whatever is holding you back the way a sculptor looks at a block of marble and chisels away the negative space around the beautiful statue which had to be.
