Happy February everyone! In honor of Valentines Day, we are devoting this newsletter to love and relationship. Many people feel that they are looking for someone to complete them. Actually the likelihood of meeting "The One," increases dramatically when we work on becoming complete ourselves. As a prerequisite to finding a life partner it is important to develop the Emotional IQ and Maturity to be able to share our life with someone. Love is not something we eventually possess. Love comes to us when it's already inside. Yogi Bhajan said, "Your greatest stregth is your love. Your greatest weakness is your fear."

Successful relationship is a tantric concept. It's your ability to be self-reliant in conjunction with your willingness to open your heart to give, receive, and merge. If you are feeling resistance about merging your life with a partner, it may be that you will base your relationship on security-seeking rather than balanced self-sufficiency. Partnership formed from a place of strength is the ideal!

Emotional maturity also includes the ability to be resilient and to empathize. We can understand and support someone else's feelings and attitudes, even if they don't coincide with our own. To sum it all up, our ability to find "The One," rests on our ability to be one with and to be in loving relationship to the True One who is our Infinite Identity.

Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training/Workshop This Weekend

beach Top Ten Tips for A Successful Relationship

1.
Know that the other is you.
2. Deal with any unresolved negativity before you speak (good time for a Kundalini Yoga meditation!) and then communicate from your heart.
3. Men: When you perceive your partner as being critical, don't feel attacked, and become defensive. Know that, by sharing her feelings, she is initiating intimacy. Practice listening without reacting.
4. Women: 
Don't let insecurity dictate your words or actions.   Know when to speak and when to let go and let God! Pick your battles and remember that sometimes silence is golden.
5. Don't take your life together for granted. Make your life together cause for celebration and keep your memories alive!
6. Create a shared activity, whether it's yoga, sex, or creating meals together(preferabl not TV!). Find something which always works to brings you as a couple to a neutral space in which you can bond.
7. When things are spiraling out of control, take a time out to express 10 things you like about each other.
8. Don't let the little things slide. The key to a lasting relationship is in the details!
9. Commit to commitment. Commitment is your base through good times and bad. Everything else is icing on the cake!
10. Keep up with a strong Kundalini Yoga and Meditation practice to empower yourselves to accomplish all of the above!

Love Battles

I'm sorry to bother you (yet again!), but I'm hoping you can help me alleviate some of my pain and stress and maybe give me some hope for getting through a rough time. I've been meditating daily for almost 10 years -- TM, then vipassana, and, since March,So Darshan Chakra Kriya -- and doing your DVDs since 2006, when, you could say, my life started to really "dance."

Recently I was suddenly overwhelmed by negative thoughts and resentment and inner turmoil. A woman who works with my husband and me was flirting with him raunchily. I turned to some Buddhist literature to cope with it and also stepped up my KY. Still, whenever he and I were supposed to hang out with this woman and her casual boyfriend, I would get sick or something would come up and I would find an excuse to bail.

Recently, my bosses promoted her to my old position, and although there was still plenty of space (albeit next to this woman's casual boyfriend) in the room, they ordered me out. It looked like a firing: I had to leave immediately, because this woman had to take my seat! (Which happened to also be about ten feet from my husband.)

That completely destroyed me.  It's been difficult to do any KY at all, so I just do a few moves and do TM with the SCK mantra. My husband is supportive and also agreed not to expect me to join him in socializing with this woman (I am really "working my program" here! Even as I write this I begin to boil!).

I should add that we don't even like our jobs very much and wish we could spend our days be creative at home.

I plan to continue doing what KY and SCK I can and hopefully break through. But if there's any special mantra or move or slogan or ANYTHING you think would be a balm (or a sword!), please let me know!! love and light...

We are sorry to hear you are experiencing a life challenge. That is a tough one! But sometimes the Universe puts challenges in our path to remind us how strong we are or to show us how strong we can be. We suggest that you focus on the Navel Chakra and give yourself permission to cultivate healthy anger, be ruthless, and deal with this directly. That woman's behavior is most likely caused by low self esteem and may not be her fault (although it is her responsibility!).

We think it is important to work on building trust with your husband. And he needs to earn your trust by agreeing not to interact with that woman when she is inappropriate, or, on his own. We feel that he should respect your feelings and avoid anything that causes you discomfort. This is a big part of how trust is built. Where you do need to be a warrior, is in asking for what you need quietly, firmly and with grace. That said, with the proviso that there is a certain type of woman with a need for attention who is completely unconscious with regard to that type of behavior. They often zero in on married men (because they are unattainable and therefore "safe") and don't even know why they are doing it. Even though it may be unconscious, it still is dangerous and wrong. It is important that your husband be aware of that dynamic. Learning to understand the behavior of that type of woman is a big piece of the puzzle of how to be a man. Be a warrior, but be careful to pick your battles. Don't worry about being "spiritual." Being strong in setting good boundaries for yourself is also spiritiual.

It would be good for you and your husband, to find a way to do creative activities at home even before you quit.

Ask for what you want from everyone involved and come from a place of strength. If you anticipate any sort of confrontation from anyone, concentrate on your navel and feel a fire burning there. Also, practicing the Navel Power DVD would be good at this time. Please keep us posted.


Relationship Funk

Ana, I am embarassed to say that I'm in a funk due to my ex-boyfriend. I found out he was not so honest in our relationship, and it has caused me suffering I am trying to let go of. I could ue some good workouts to get his energetically out of my system, and wanted to see if you had any advice on this. One thing would be great if I can get my belly in shape. I'm an office worker, and sit down a huge percentage of my work week. Any ideas? Thanks,

I am sorry to hear you are experiencing discomfort in your life. I suggest the Navel Power DVD both to shape up your abs and turn your funk into healthy anger so you can use this situation as a springboard to gain momentum for a new and exciting chapter in your life! I also recommend Warrior Workout and Kundalini Cardio Stretch & Strengthen. You might try an extended version (31 minutes) of the Sa Ta Na Ma meditation which is on both our Yoga Quick Fixes & Yoga House Call DVD's. That can help get someone's energy out of your aura and psyche when recovering from a negative relationship. You might also want to also add a green smoothie to your day - maybe for breakfast? Fertility, Potency, & Hormones

Dear Ravi and Ana, I am very interested in your kundalini dvds.  Could you please advise which ones would be best for increasing a woman's fertility and which ones are best for promoting ovulation, regulating an irregular menstrual cycle and balancing (and increasing) hormones.
 
Also, could you please advise where I can purchase Tocos and whether
there are any other fertility promoting products that you provide. Many thanks!
 
Thanks for writing. For increasing fertility and promoting ovulation we suggest the Potency and Fertility segment on our Yoga House Call DVD. For regulating an irregular menstrual cycle and balancing (and increasing) hormones we suggest Fat Free Yoga and Yoga Beauty Body. The Sa-Ta-Na-Ma Meditation on Yoga Quick Fixes & Yoga House Call, practiced with the focus of the eyes 1/10 open looking down and in towards the tip of the nose, done for 31 min. per day (Sa-Ta-Na-Ma as instructed: 5 min. out loud, 5 min whisper, 10 min silent, 5 min. whisper, 5 min. out loud) is an amazing practice to balance one's menstrual cycle. The Sa-Ta-Na-Ma variation on Yoga Beauty Body done for 11 min. can also be very helpful in that regard. The exercises on our Yoga for Beginners & Beyond: Stretch, Strengthen, Be Stress Free DVD, are also very helpful for fertility.

The concept of a soul mate gives rise to much magical thinking, but it could be said that from life to life we are separated from a soul mate in the maze of time, space, and circumstance. This powerful mantra can help us find what's been lost and also can deliver us from the self -absorption of ego so we can be humble enough to recognize a soul mate and honor our Destiny and let the Universe work on our behalf.

Even if you've found your "soul mate," it's important to remember that that's where the work begins, not ends!
