Questions of the Month Divorce Deliverance
Hi Ana and Ravi -I have been a
faithful practioner or your DVDs for a few years now. Over the past few
months, however, I have been going through a divorce following a
14-year marriage and am often feeling overwhelmed, exhausted and very
tight in my neck and shoulders. It's really important for me to think
clearly, keep my energy levels high and be lifted out of depression and
neck/shoulder tightness these days. What do you recommend? Gratefully yours,
Thanks
for writing. Yes, divorce is one of the most stressful life changes because it hits us on so very
many levels of our being and life! The best thing to do is to be gentle
with yourself and take one day at a time. Kundalini Yoga and meditation
will be especially helpful since they work in such a multidimensional
way to help you get through this trying time gracefully.
It may seem trite in the context of your present circumstances, but please remember that it is a Universal Law that when one door closes another opens. In the manner that the perfect time to buy real estate is when the market is low (opportunities abound), this is the perfect time to start to organize and prepare for another exciting chapter of your life. Any and all of Kundalini Yoga sets will be beneficial for you now.
There are many exercises on our Yoga for Beginners & Beyond: Stretch, Strengthen, Be Stress Free DVD, which will be helpful in
eliminating neck and should tension.
We recommend the So Darshan Chakra Kriya Meditation (11 minutes), and
the Sa Ta Na Ma Meditation for 31 minutes. Both of these can be found
on our Yoga Quick Fixes and Yoga House Call DVDs.
Please keep us posted and remember, that things may seem overwhelming
now, but you definitely won't feel like this forever! We have
counseled a great many people going through divorce and they were
always grateful for the tools Kundalini Yoga provides.
Defeating the Night Munchy Monster
I have been using your DVD's for over a year now and they are
addictive! I really like them a lot. I want to tell you that I I
recently had my thyriod scanned becuase the thought that it looked
enlarged (I have a scar on my neck that makes it look bigger). Anyway,
the doctor who interpreted my scan was amazed at how clean my thyroid
looked! He told me that he rarely sees a thyroid as clean as mine. This
was great to hear and of'course I thought about how it was largely due
to the yoga!
I have a question though, and I thank you for answering in advance. I
have a problem with food. I went on a diet a few years ago and lost
most of my baby fat, however, I have exprienced strong boughts of
over-eating, especially at night. I think that I am not alone, other
girls I spoke with also have this problem. I was wondering if there is
anything that you could recommend. I am really tired of over-eating at
night. My stomache and neck area end up hurting for the entire next day
and sometimes I have nightmares. I do your videos in the morning for at
least 20 or more minutes every day to improve my mood. I can't seem to
buy any type of food that I think I may munch on. I am at my wits end.
Thank you for any insight you may have.
Thanks for writing and for your feedback. We are so happy to hear that
you are enjoying the DVDs. Wonderful news about your thyroid too! :)
Many people overeat at night to compensate for stress, emotional
issues, and to get out of active energy mode into passive energy mode.
We suggest that you try the "Delete Depression" segment on our Yoga Quick Fixes DVD before dinner. We don't think that you are suffering
from depression, but it just so happens that all of those exercises are
helpful in addressing compulsive eating. If you feel so inspired,
extend the time of practice of the Dart Meditation on that segment. Its
important to sit in silence for a minute after you meditate. Also try
doing a meditation while you are lying in bed waiting to fall asleep:
inhale and chant softly Wah Hay Guru (3x) Wah Hay Jeo (1x), 8x per
breath. You will have to repeat this very quickly to fit in 8 on a
breath. Part of you will look forward to this all evening and you will
find extraneous habits falling away.
Re diet: you should be sure and include some healthy fats in each meal
to keep your blood sugar levels stable. Research the ratio between omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids and be sure to eat at least twice as many omega 3's.
Also, if you feel so inspired, and haven't already. Please consider
sharing your experiences(clean thyroid, etc.) in the form of a review
for any of our DVDs on Amazon.com. Reviews are all people unfamiliar
with Kundalini Yoga have to go on and we are sure your words will
inspire others to consider Kundalini Yoga to be healthy and happy! We wish you joy, health, and blessings,
PS. If you are on Facebook, check out the Raviana Group Page on Facebook. There is an ongoing group meditation which focuses on So Darshan Chakra Kriya. You will find some wonderful kindred spirtis there to share experiences with!
Is He The Right One?
Hello, Thank you for your newsletters. I always find something in them that is
useful for me! I actually had a question regarding relationships which
I was hoping you could help me with. I have usually turned to kundalini
yoga to help me with many of my life's difficulties and so I thought
that it could probably provide me with insight as to what I should do.
I am having extreme difficulty deciding if an individual is the right
person for me and it is causing me undue stress. I also get knots and
feelings in my stomach indicating that maybe he isn't the right one but
I'm not sure if that is actually deeper insight or just my anxiety. Do
you have any recommendations as to how to approach this situation (i.e.
thinking patterns, yoga meditation, set etc) to gain insight? Thank you
kindly. I appreciate your help!
Thanks for writing. Based on what you told us, we feel that it is
important to give yourself permission to slow things down so there is
less pressure on you. You can always keep your options open! If that's
not an option it probably wasn't meant to be anyway.
Here is a meditation for intuition and overview which will give you the
clarity to know how to proceed:
Have your hands in your lap. focus at the third eye and hear the sounds
Wah Hay Gu-ru (4 syllables) above the top of the head. Try to do this
for at least 20 minutes a day at one sitting. To end, inhale stretch
your arms up, then shake your arms. Sit in silence for a minute before
returning to regular activity.
Another good thing to do when having trouble making a decision is to
meditate in Gurpranam: sit on your heels, knees wide, forehead on the
floor, arms extended, palms together, thumbs not crossed. Feel that you
are asking your personal guru (your Higher Self) for guidance and
clarity. Do this through feeling, not thinking. Overtime the answer
should become self evident without you having to agonize. Yogi Bhajan said that one shouldn't be as intent on finding their soul mate as in mating with their own soul. When we do that, everything flows the ways it's meant to. We wish you joy, health, and blessings. Yoga Viagra
Hello. I have erectile dysfunction and I was wondering if there is anything in the Kundalini Yoga world which might help me. Thank you in advance for any insights you can share!
We recommend the Fertility and Potency segment on our Yoga House Call DVD. Also, try the Peruvian herb maca and/or take two capsules of L-Arginine/L-Orthinine before bed, or 45 min. before a workout. If there is an emotional, rather than organic cause, we recommend the Sa-Ta-Na-Ma Meditation on Yoga Quick FIxes andYoga House Call. It may also be that your hormones are in a low cycle. Lots of Breath of Fire in the context of your Kundalini Yoga practice will be very helpful in this regard because it stimulates the pituitary, the Master Gland.

Meditation for a Stress Free Holiday Season This is called Ravi Mudra and is great to regenerate your adrenals and lessen stress. It will also give you one-pointed focus and a strong and resilient nervous system.
Sit in a comfortable position with a staight spine. Have your ring fingertips and thumbs meeting on both hands.
Raise your arms up so that your hands are at eye level. The index fingers of either hand meet along the first joint. Gaze straight ahead, unblinking. Try to have no thoughts. Despite any discomfort, simply hold this pose and let your body and nerves and mind regenerate. The discomfort you feel is directly proportionate to the amount of rengenerating which is needs to occur. Be grateful for the opportunity to heal yourself. Start with 3 - 5 min. and work up to 11 min. over time. Don't let the simplicity of this technique fool you. This is a powerful proactive tool which imparts many gifts of healing and clarity.
