Greetings everyone! This is Ana Brett & Ravi Singh's November Yoga news. Thanks to Hannah, Olivia and all the wonderful people who attended our Intro to Teacher Training at Give Yoga Memphis last month. It was an enriching, inspiring experience for all of us! We will be doing a Teacher Training there starting in February (see below)! Also, thanks to Alan Franzi and all of you who attended our workshop in Hamden, CT at Your Community Yoga.

It's been said that if you want to master something teach it. What better thing to teach than a technology which can make an immediate impact in people's lives and in the life of the world. From the simplest breathing exercise to the most sophisticated meditations, from the repatterning of brain waves and old emotions to attunement to the

Top 10 Signs That the Aquarian Age Is Dawning

The Aquarian Age may seem right around the corner from the perspective of our Kundalini Yoga mats, but as soon as you walk outside or turn on the TV, we realize very quickly that there is a long way to go. Thus, the dawning of the Age of Aquarius doesn't mean that there will be peace, love, and understanding right away.  As a prelude to this great shift, in which new ways of being will be widely accepted, there will be some inevitable chaos as the old forms go down fighting. Transition to a Great Age corresponds with the rise of new paradigms in politics, economies, and world views. In order for humanity to form a consensus there must be compassion for human suffering and a yearning for something new. If you are reading this, you are probably a Kundalini Yoga practitioner or someone who is attempting a conscious lifestyle. Thus, you are a pioneer in this great movement towards a better world. Nothing is a foregone conclusion. Don't underestimate how important you are, as well as the extent to which every conscious decision you  make makes an impact. The Aquarian Age is more than just a flower child's pipe dream. It's a tangible and inevitable historical and spiritual phase in the ongoing drama of human existence. The following signs are already being seen but will come to fruition over the next 300 years.

1.   The veil under which people felt powerless to change is lifting. People are coming to realize that we all have the power to oversee our own healing and growth. It's no coincidence that yoga is more mainstream than it's ever been! Technologies like Kundalini Yoga are what more and more people are doing everyday, to heal their lives and self-determine, simply as a matter of course.

2.   Many people are becoming increasingly motivated to use their gifts and resources to help ease human suffering. For example, one of our nephews is studying to be an engineer and his interest lies in helping to develop more sustainable forms of energy.

3.   The realization is dawning, by degrees, that the Universe is plastic, not in the hippie slang sense, of artificial, but in the sense of being moldable. With increasing immediacy, our thoughts, prayers, and projections are creating tangible realities.

4.   Civilization is experiencing birth pangs, labor pains, and growing pains.

5.    Increasing transparency.  Everything will come out in the wash! Lies and manipulation will be revealed.  Truthfulness and authenticity will have lasting cache.

6.   People are learning to rely upon more subtle input and trust that the Unseen is more powerful than the seen. Synchronicities, miraculous happenstance, and intuitive leaps, are becoming commonplace in the lives of many. 

7.   The predatory Universe is being left behind in favor of a co-creative one. The Universe is beginning to be perceived as an eco-system. We are weaving its rhythms, energies, and Awareness into our lives.

8.   Information is being processed faster than thought. Technology and Spirit merging. Everyone an heir to all knowledge. Definitions of life, intelligence, and consciousness expanding to include everything. Less of a distinction between outer space and inner space. We are discovering that we are not alone. We were never alone right here.

9.   Everyone has the means to make a positive difference. We are all becoming Teachers to one another.

10.  Somewhere on the horizon there is less neurosis in the sexual and emotional arenas. More of a merger of polarities. Greater respect for the Feminine. Less focus on the sensual, more on the sensory. The body shall become the soul and the soul shall become the body. Love's imperishable body will reveal itself. There will be no more dying.

Fat Free Yoga "A Little Strange"


Hi, I was very satisfied with your service and have no complaints, but I did not know the item (Fat Free Yoga) I purchased was for a different type of yoga. I am familiar with hatha yoga. That was my mistake, I probably did not read all of the information on the item. I tried the DVD and found it a little strange, can I return this item?

Thanks for writing. You can definitely return this item. However please try it one more time and if it doesn't grow on you then we'll be happy to give you a full refund. Kundalini Yoga differs from hatha yoga in the sense that's it's not so much a classical system (emphasis on how it looks as in a dance form), but with more emphasis on what it does, specifically glandular balance, restoring energy flows in the body, reducing stress, promoting peace of mind, maintaining youth and beauty, toning and strengthening the body, and promoting spiritual growth. Fat Free Yoga works on weight loss from the inside out. Many people who practice Fat Free Yoga regularly report amazing results. Calories burned is only one part of the weight loss equation. There are many other levels involved: emotional, metabolic, and energetic. Fat Free Yoga works on all of these simultaneously.

OCD and Kundalini Yoga

What do you all recommend for obsessive compulsive disorder.  I have struggled with this for many years and I am confident yoga can help

Kundalini Yoga has an amazing track record in helping people address OCD. If you can direct the quirks of OCD and apply them to the repetitive nature of Kundalini Yoga meditations, you can turn a challenge into an incredible blessing!

When you're in the throes of an OCD "episode," try this for 3-11 minutes: Have your fingertips meeting and spread wide (like a tent) at diaphragm level, thumbs pointing back towards the body. If circumstances permit, close your eyes and turn them up and in towards the top of the head. Inhale thru your nose, hold the breath for 5-10 seconds, exhale thru a rounded mouth, hold the breath out for 5 - 10 seconds, inhale thru a rounded mouth and hold the breath for 5 - 10 seconds, exhale thru your nose, and hold the breath out for 5 - 10 seconds.   

Overall, for OCD we recommend the Delete Depression segment on our
Yoga Quick Fixes DVD. Extend the Sat Kriya exercise to as long as you can practice it everyday (up to 2 1/2 hours). An initial goal might be 11 minutes. Also try to practice the "Dart Meditation" in the same set, for 11 to 31 minutes. Do as much of the physical Kundalini Yoga as you can. These techniques should be very helpful.


What Next?

Hello Ana and Ravi. At your recommendation I have finished 20 day mark of So Darshan Chakra Kriya and the results have already been marked and definite. I feel more confident, centered and my heart for others feels more open. Thank you! After I finish my 40 days I would like to begin a new 40 day meditation. Is there one after this you recommend? Also, is there a meditation to increase charisma and/ or attract friends? I am working
on my aura daily.  Thanks again & Blessings


Congratulations on completing 20 days of So Darshan Chakra Kriya! We think that you should keep going with that one because it works and it will continue to work. Ravi has been doing it for 18 years. It will definitely add to your charisma and help you attract friends of the right sort.

At some point in your Kundalini Yoga career, it would be good to do 31 minute versions of the "Morning Call" meditation on
Am/Pm Yoga, the Sa Ta Na Ma meditation on Yoga Quick Fixes and Yoga House Call, the "Dart" meditation at the end of the "Delete Depression " segment on Yoga Quick Fixes, and the "Rewriting the Book of your Life" meditation (which will be on our upcoming meditation DVD), all for 40 days each.

Yoga for Children

Hi, First off I wanted to say how much I have enjoyed your dvds. They are simply amazing.  I was curious what age children could start  Kundalini Yoga.  I have two almost one year old sons and we have been doing some yoga and I thought they might be able to do some of the things on the dvds.  I look forward to your response. Thanks for writing and for your kind words. Kundalini Yoga is an amazing practice for kids because it has something for everything in it: body, mind, and soul. Essentially kids can do anything except sustained periods of Breath of Fire. The most important thing is to let them have fun with it so they have a positive association with Kundalini Yoga for future reference. Also, if you can get your kids into the habit of a set routine for their yoga or any form of proactive activity, you will giving them an incredible gift for future use on their life paths.

Its amazing that you are doing Yoga with your kids. Lets hope this generation leads us all to a better world! We wish you and your family, joy, health, and blessings.

Meditation for Mental Tranquility

Even three thousand years ago, people found that tranquility & bliss were elusive propositions. In fact, Buddha's disciples prevailed upon  him for a cure for their minds' erratic natures. Buddha taught them this meditation called Man Subhavee Mura Kriya, which means, discipline which is pleasing to the mind.

Your hands are at sternum level, six inches in front of your body, forearms parallel. Your thumbs and middle fingers of each hand are meeting fingerprint to fingerprint. Fold your index fingers in so that they meet each other along their length from the first joint to the knuckle.

Your eyes are 1/10 open looking down and in towards the tip of the nose. Inhale through your nose, hold your breath and repeat Sat Nam (Truth is your Identity) mentally 12 - 15 times. Exhale through your nose, hold the breath out and repeat Sat Nam 12 - 15 times.Start with 3 min. and build up your time of practice over time. Sit in silence for a few minutes afterward and bask in bliss!
