NEW DVD UPDATE

Well, despite a little delay owing to two perfectionists (we won't name names) trying to present you with the best DVD's possible we are now happy to report that our new DVD's are at the duplicator's and we expect that copies will be ready to ship any day now. We had hoped to make this announcement over a month ago, but the delay actually allowed us to include some little touches which we are sure will be worth the wait! We want to thank you all for your patience! We missed our original deadline, so If you had pre-ordered these on Amazon.com, be sure to renew your order, otherwise they will cancel it! These are currently on sale on Amazon.com for $14.49 ea. !!!

One of the best things about Kundalini Yoga is that it satisfies our Western selves' penchant for toned bodies and cardio with our Eastern selves' deep desire to experience the truly transcendent. We feel that these new titles represent the best of both worlds! We hope you enjoy them!

Yoga for Beginners & Beyond: Stretch, Strengthen, Be Stress Free!

is the best of both worlds:  Kundalini Yoga's dynamic aspect with the focused intensity of power and ashtanga yoga. Includes many bonus features including chair exercises, a posture primer, a set for back health, stress relief, and more! Much of this DVD is perfect as a pre-natal workout. If there are people in your life whom you feel can benefit from Kundalini Yoga, this would be the perfect introduction. But don't think this one's too easy if you're a seasoned practitioner. We promise you'll get a great workout and feel totally inspired.

Kundalini Yoga Cardio, Stretch, & Strengthen

is also the best of both worlds: an amazing Kundalini Yoga set with its spiritual depth and power as well as a complete fitness experience: stretching, in-depth ab work, an effective and fun dance-influenced cardio routine (along with standing warm-up and cool down segments, and an amazing Kundalini Yoga Kriya which will simultaneously tone your upper body and open your upper chakras, as well as a beautiful musical mantra chant. This one has something for everyone. Yes, cardio and dance are a part of traditional Kundalini Yoga. Dance type moves are part of many Kundalini Yoga sets. Yoga Bhajan talked about how certain movements help to perfect blood chemistry and how sweating everyday in the right way keeps the glands in balance.

Kundalini Yoga for Energy & Super Radiance!

Live on fire. Shine like the sun! This is a Kundalini Yoga "old school" workout with cutting edge music and more. Features a complete whole body workout including some extended exercises which will test you and bring out the best in you. In addition to Tom Carden's great music featuring vocal's by Ana, this one features a rock anthem version of Jap Sahib, a warrior hymn from the Sikh tradition. This is a total workout for body, mind, and soul!

Please follow the links to Amazon.com to read more about these. We will be selling these exclusively on Amazon.com for the time being.  Amazon.com is currently offering these titles on sale for $14.49! All 3 for $43.47

Top Ten Tips to Embody Your True Body

1. Commit to daily Kundalini Yoga & Meditation (even if you only have 15 minutes!).
Kundalini Yoga represents a multi-dimensional approach which leaves no stone unturned in helping you to realize your goals.
2. Be willing to forget the outmoded diet model. Crash diets and extreme methods do not yield lasting results and may create imbalances which will come back to haunt. Instead, institute lifestyle changes. Decide to eat a really clean diet by eating  more fresh vegetables and choosing organic when possible.
3. Keep your blood sugar levels stable. In other words, eat less but more often, and try to stay away from foods with a high glycemic index.
4. Create a new habit: When you feel like doing less, do more. Stay active (unless you're in detox or healing mode, then listen to your body.)
5. Understand the link between overeating and stress and emotions.
6. Set realistic goals and imagine its fulfillment. Visualization works! Meditation sharpens your visualization skills (see 1). Another thing that works is unbending intention! (see 7)
7. Keep your Navel Center strong. More than anything else, this will help you be victorious and accomplish things you've never been able to before.
8. Slow and steady wins the race. Don't worry about day to day set-backs. The important thing is your commitment over the long haul.
9. Eat healthy fats. It may seem like a paradox, but eating the right kind of fats can help you lose fat.
10. Bottom line: we're hoping that your yoga practice is helping you to love yourself, no matter where you are with regard to your personal goals. Give yourself the same patience, love, understanding, and encouragement you would give to a dear friend or loved one!

***QUESTIONS OF THE MONTH***

Fat Free Yoga Pre-Sets

I ordered Fat Free Yoga after reading all the great reviews on Amazon. Using the Matrix menu option, I don't know which segments to select because there are 11 sections to choose from:

Breath Primer 4:28 / Tune In 3:11 / Energizing Breath Exercise 4:28 /
Start Your Engines 13:27 / Fight Fire with Fire 21:31 / No Impact Aerobics 12:45 / Your Life Is In Your Own Glands 11:37 / Deep Relazation 3:11 /
Teapot Meditation 3:42 / Meditation to Transform Emotions 7:52 /
Closing Prayer 2:24

I am 80 lbs overweight with 2 younger children (one that goes to school) and I've never done any type of yoga. The entire program (90 minutes) in the morning seems like a huge undertaking to me. I think I could live with around a 45 min routine. I am wondering which are the best sections to group together. I definitely need to lose weight and increase flexability along with balancing out my hormones so I think your dvd's will truely help me. So if you could tell me how I should group  the segments together to make up routines to cover each section, I would greatly appreciate you help.  Thank you,

Thanks for writing and congratulations on beginning your Kundalini Yoga practice!
Here are some shorter routines which we feel will help you meet your goals:

Set 1: (about 46 Minutes)
Tune In  / Start Your Engines / Fight Fire w/Fire / Meditation to Transform Emotions
Closing Prayer

Set 2: (about 42 minutes)
Tune In / Energizing Breath Exercise / Start Your Engines / No Impact Aerobics
Deep Relaxation / Hands Like a Teapot Meditation / Closing Prayer

Set 3: (about 37 minutes)
Tune In / Fight Fire with Fire / No Impact Aerobics / Your Life is in Your Own Glands
Closing Prayer

Set 4: (about 37 minutes)
Tune In / Start Your Engines / Your Life is in Your Own Glands
Meditation to Transform Emotions / Closing Prayer

Set 5: (about 38 minutes)
Tune In / (pause program - 10 minute brisk walk) / Your Life is in Your own Glands
Hands Like a Teapot Meditation to Transform Emotions / Closing Prayer

With regard to successful weight loss, we want to emphasize that the more meditative techniques are as important as the vigorous exercises, if not more so, because of their ability to work on the glands and to get beneath the surface and resolve various forms of stress, etc. Please don't hesitate to write us again if you have further questions and be sure to let us know how you are doing!

Fat Free Yoga: Calories Burned

Hi Ravi & Ana, I own several of your DVDs and lover them all, but find myself doin the Fat Free Yoga most often. My question is, do you know, or is there a
way to find out approximately how many calories are burned when doing
the whole DVD start to finish? Also, is this the best of your DVDs for
weight loss or is there another one I should try? Thank you so much!

Thanks for writing.  The active part of Fat Free Yoga burns approximately 450 to 600 calories per hour. Beyond calories burned, Fat Free Yoga works on other aspects of weight loss that are as, if not more important. These include: glandular balance, allowing energy and circulation access to "problem areas," and emotional balance and stress relief.  Because it works on so many levels at once, we feel that Fat Free Yoga represents a very valuable tool for weight loss.

Other DVDs which we recommend for weight loss would be: Warrior Workout, Yoga Cleanse, Navel Power, and Kundalini Yoga Cardio Stretch & Strengthen. When time allows, periodically, you might want to take a 10 minute brisk walk before your
practice.

Many people are bogged down by a one dimensional model with regard to weight loss and fitness. It is great that you have discovered the multi-level approach of Fat Free Yoga and Kundalini Yoga.

Blondes Have More Feedback

We received a good amount of feedback about Ana's new blonde look. While some of you let us know how much you liked it, we were a little surprised to get so much less than positive feedback. Here are some samples of those e-mails and Ana's response below:

what has ANA done to her hair? she looked so frsh  pure and radiant before and now ...looking like from the escort section .NOOOOOOOOooooooo!

******************************

you could have fooled me  you looked like a beautiful natural brunette.
it's gonna be hard looking natural after all the trials......I hope it doesn't ruin your natural beauty .

******************************
Comment with good intention - Ravi & Ana, I love your products & continue to purchase them with great satisfaction.

This is a very superficial remark, but Ana, you were truly a beautiful brunette.  Dying your hair blonde sends a mixed message to your fans.  On one hand, we are to become our OWN very best.  On the other, you are clearly trying to create a blonde you -- a color that does not bring out your best and that appears very contrary to your natural beauty.

You need not do a thing -- and I do respect you both very much -- but I will say I am disappointed at this choice, given all the ways you encourage internal loveliness.

******************************

Disappointed: I usually look forward to receiving your newsletter.  This one, however, was a hearty disappointment.  I don't understand how Ana can be a proponant of raw foods, natural living, etc., and bleach her hair to the extent that is evident in the current photos.  Unfortunately, it really makes me feel differently about all of your dvds which I currently possess.  It seems hypocrital to espouse yoga as the cure for all ailments and basically as a fountain of youth while utilizing bleach and hair dye in an attempt at youthfullness.    P.S. Your dark hair is beautiful, Ana.

******************************

How could you promote health when Ana Brett's green, peroxided hair gives me the shivers just to think what she subjected herself to achieve a fake, blonde look, its hideous.  She was successful with her beautiful black hair, and now I just feel that she is hypocritical.  There is something wrong with that bleached, green/blonde hair that doesn't equate with healthful living to me.

******************************

Hello,   I've been buying and using your cd's anf the old tapes for
years now.  Anna, what did you do to your beautiful brown hair!

******************************

Thanks for your feedback. I liked the black too! I colored my hair black for about 5 years but when I learned that dark dye contains carcinogens I decided to return to the color I was born with: blonde. I did the switch gradually and safely without ever using bleach.

One of my joys in life is to experiment with different looks. Maybe if a safer black hair dye is created I'll go back to black one day. Meanwhile, the spirit of Kundalini Yoga is to enjoy life and find new ways to express yourself, have fun and find what works!

Sincerely,
Ana Brett

MEDITATION OF THE MONTH

True Identity Meditation -
Sometimes in order to arrive at who we are, we need to assess who we're ultimately not. Think of all the identities in which you consciously or unconsciously have an ego investment: for instance: 3rd generation Polish American, New York City artist type, "regular guy," Libertarian, dog person, staunch Republican, Yogi, crossword puzzle master, etc. After identifying each of your identities, say Sat Nam (True Identity) to yourself. It is true that some aspects of us are expressions of our souls, but there also many arbitrary aspects or layers which we've accumulated or have had thrust upon us which obscure the realization of who we really are and were meant to be. Practice this exercise in feeling mode, not thinking, and mentally repeat Sat Nam as an heartfelt affirmation of your essential Self. To conclude this practice, say out loud (or to yourself): "I am that I am and That forever!" You can do this exercise anytime anywhere.

We wish you an exhilarating, joyful, February!!

All Best,
Ana Brett & Ravi Singh
