TWINSBURG, OH - June 8 - Taylor Burke won a State high jump title Saturday as a sophomore leaping 5'9 to defeat the competition. Last year, Tina Dimitrijevs of North Royalton leaped 5'10 to win the State high jump title. In 2005, the Walsh Jesuit boys 4x800 meter relay team won the State title. The Aurora Greenmen high school football team won the school's first ever State title last year defeating Columbus Eastmoore Academy 21-10. The Walsh Jesuit Boys hockey team won the division title in 2009 and are moving up into the Red North Division which is arguably the top hockey division in the State. In 2006, the Stow Boys soccer team clinched the Division 1 State title. The Cleveland City Stars professional soccer team won the division title in 2008. So what is the common thread here? All of these athletes and teams trained at Premier Sport Conditioning prior to accomplishing success in their relative sports. The success continued this past weekend. Premier Sport Conditioning was well represented at the OHSAA track and field meet Friday and Saturday and posted some great performances. Medina's Taylor Burke was ranked nationally as one of the top high jumpers in the country and won the girls high jump with a leap of 5'9, Hudson's Lauren Piper took 4th in the girl's high jump and is heading to Ashland University in the fall, Twinsburg's Brittani Reid was 10th in the girl's high jump, Sam Chester of Medina was 5th in the 110 meter hurdles. Hudson's Ryan Bosman was 7th in the 300 meter hurdles and is heading to Miami of Ohio in the fall; Solon's Chadd Pierce was 3rd in the pole vault and is heading to the University of North Carolina in the fall. Tallmadge's Amanda Bennett was 4th in Division II girl's high jump, Ryan Lest of Independence was 4th in Division III boy's high jump and Newbury's Kyle Chapman was 5th in Division III boy's high jump. PSC is a multi-faceted athlete training center that focuses their efforts on helping athletes of all ages, sports and skill levels develop and fine tune speed and running form, improve athletic strength and develop explosive power, balance and flexibility through there unique, innovative style of training. The results they have helped athletes achieve are evident. PSC has quickly become the "go to" training facility. It is visually apparent when you walk into PSC that it is an environment that breeds success. "We tailor every athlete's program so it addresses their individual needs says Caza, PSC's founder and Director of Performance. "We look for deficits and weaknesses in the initial evaluation in running form, muscle imbalances, postural limitations and injury history." "One year before Tina won the State high jump title, she had lower back pain, her hips were weak and tilted forward and she was training incorrectly which was compounding her problems." Says Caza. "We quickly revamped her training program and corrected her imbalances over the next year and she won a State title." A number of the Aurora football players had faults in their running mechanics and we re-wired their body through the proper drill work to improve their speed on the playing field. In addition, a number of the Aurora football players were frequently sore from the lifting they were doing as a team so we were able to implement some massage and recovery techniques to speed their muscle recovery between training sessions, says Caza". We approach every athlete this way. No athlete is in perfect balance and it is our job to assess the current level of each athlete and then design a training program that is specific. "If their training program isn't specific to their individual needs, we cannot help them reach their potential." So in light of all the success PSC has accomplished with their athletes, they continue to better themselves each day. "We spend time as a staff every week breaking down our training methods and discussing athlete profiles so we can continue to generate great results with them." Caza says. I have always learned that with success, you have to stay humble and continue to get better. You can't become complacent and happy with what you have done, otherwise you are not getting better. Our whole team is passionate, credible and we work hard at what we do and that is why we succeed with the athletes we train.
