It was fitting for Anne G. to order a

discount. The subject of the photo is her
father in an Irish landscape.
The colors of the field grass were subdued from the muted shadows of many tones as her father reflected on his trip. The composition is very pleasing with the simple home in the background. |

Willie S. is quite the photographer. His
usual uploads are scenes from his native
Southwest, so this colorfully textured view
of one of the canals in Venice, Italy took me
by surprise.

This illustrates the typical process each
uploaded image goes through after the initial
sizing, color and contrast corrections are
made along with any retouching. The digital
image is then manipulated with a series of
layered brushstroke techniques, blended with
our own formula to achieve our "look".
The online proof then allows the customer to see that effect with close-up sections shown so that any adjustment can be made and subsequent proofs posted. The most common requests are to make the painting either tighter (more realistic) or with looser appearing brushstrokes (less realistic). Other popular requests are cropping changes or items retouched out of the painting or a background replaced. The other question asked, "Will there be actual 3- dimensional brushstrokes showing on the surface of the canvas?" The answer to this is no, the 6-color pigment application is done by the giclee printing process on a 44" printer using canvas rolls. Both the inks and canvas used are long-lasting archival quality materials. |
