WOW... Cannot believe it's almost August. Where has the summer gone? We hope that you have had an opportunity to take your vacation or are getting ready to get away from this heat and humidity... We have had some HOT days. Not only are these days hot for us but they are equally as hot and dangerous for our pets!   Our pets are helpless in many ways.  A dog can't let themselves into the house when it's too hot outside.  Your cat can't call you to tell you the air conditioner's broken and the house is unbearable. As responsible pet owners, we all want to keep our pets safe, healthy and happy all summer long. We hope that all our furry friends have a cool place to rest and play and plenty of water!

Remember to call us to book your favorite pet sitter if you are heading out of town. We are a safe and sensible alternative to kennel boarding and our services allow for your pets to stay in the comfort and security of their own home!

Our services are performed with lots of hugs, kisses, and reassurance so that your pet feels loved and comforted while you're away. We're the next best thing to you. :)  Give us a call or visit our website!

 Summer Plans & Client Questions:

Summer is now well under way and we hope you're having a blast! If you haven't done so already, be sure to book your pet sitting reservations with us as soon as possible. Summer is one of the busiest seasons for us and we ask that you give as much notice as you can for your reservation. We cannot guarantee service if you attempt to schedule with less than 48 hours notice, but we will always do our best to meet your vacation needs!

In the spirit of Summer and vacation, here are a couple frequently asked questions about our services that will help put you at ease before (or after) your summer getaway:

"What is your inclement weather policy in the summer with all this heat and rain?"

In dangerous weather conditions, such as extreme heat or thunderstorms, dogs will be taken out for midday dog walks long enough to relieve themselves and the remainder of the visit will be spent indoors. This is to ensure your dogs do not develop heatstroke or dehydration and will not become frightened by lightning or pouring rain.

Sitters are advised not to overexert themselves in the heat, so there might be a delay in their schedule. If so, your pet sitter will do their best to get to your home to care for your pets as soon as possible.

Also, be sure to provide us with current contact names and numbers in the event of an emergency.

"How do I leave a gratuity for my pet sitter? She (or he) is awesome!"

There are two ways to leave a gratuity for your pet sitter after you schedule service with us:

A)     Leave a tip for them at your residence so they can pick it up when doing service.

B)      Call the office and let us know! We will add the gratuity to your scheduled invoice and your pet sitter will see it on their schedule the next day.

Whichever method you choose, we really appreciate your generosity and we're sure your pet sitter will too.

Thank you for your business and have a wonderful, carefree summer!

 Fun in the Sun

Products to keep you dog cool in this summer heat!

North Coast Pets' Doggie Fountain

Dehydration can lead to heat stroke and

hyperthermia for your best buddy. The North Coast Pets Doggie Fountain turns your outdoor garden hose into a water fountain that your dog can access on his or her own. It's better than a dog bowl because the water is always fresh and cool, and the fountain is easy to move, so you won't have a mud puddle -- or muddy paws.

Cost/where to buy: North Coast Pets ; $45.99

One Dog One Bone Paw Pool

This paw-print shaped pool holds up to 20 gallons of water, and is specially designed for smaller pups. There's a bone shaped one available, too, for bigger dogs. You fill them up just like a kiddie pool. They're made of the same tough material as truck bed covers and they're white so that they absorb less light and stay up to 10 degrees cooler than black pools.

Cost/where to buy: One Dog One Bone : paw-print pool, $160; bone-shaped pool, $359

North Coast Pets' Kool Collar

The Kool Collar is designed to be worn outdoors.Just fill the collar with ice and put it on and it will immediately start to bring an overheated dog's temperature down. You can also use it indoors for breeds that are prone to heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

Cost/where to buy: North Coast Pets , $16.99 to $18.99
