"The Scoop" from Becky
 | | Becky and Kate |
Happy National Professional Pet Sitters Week! I am so excited to be able to celebrate this week with you. It is really wonderful to have an opportunity to thank everyone for the great job that they do for Becky's Pet Care and for their clients. We have the best staff of Pet Care Professionals around. I know this for many reasons, but foremost is the comments that we get from our clients about you. Read our Shining Stars section to see some of what our clients say. Thank you all for being awesome!

Human Resources Updates |

Congratulations Paul Mancini! Paul's name was drawn from all correct replies to last month's Handbook Contest. He won a $25 gas card to a local gas station of his choice. He was one of many employees who sent the correct answer to the winter storm with governments A & B question. The correct answer was "E", call you manager to tell them you can't do the visits. This answer was based on the Pet Care Procedures Manual change that was announced in that newsletter as well as in the February 7th employee paychecks.
This month's Handbook Contest question is at the bottom of the Human Resources Updates section.
STAYING FULL LENGTH OF SCHEDULED VISIT TIME

Recently, a number of clients have submitted evidence of Dog Walkers & Pet Sitters not staying the full amount of scheduled visit time. Becky's Pet Care considers this a very serious infraction of company policy that will result in disciplinary action up to and including employment termination.
With outside security cameras, security alarm access codes (times when enter & leaving), "nanny cams" and vigilant neighbors and observant passersby, there is an increased chance your work is being monitored in some form. This is not a problem if you do what, when, where, and how you are supposed to be doing your job. If you have questions about doing your visits and staying the full length of the visits, please contact your Pet Care Manager, Theresa.
WIN A $25 GAS CARD
Monthly Handbook Contest
All Pet Care Professionals are responsible for knowing and following the Pet Care Procedures Manual and the Employees' Handbook. Here's a contest to help learn the policies and procedures. Answer the question correctly and be entered to win a $25 gas card. Email your answer to Johna. All correct responses received by 5 pm Monday March 14 will be entered in a drawing to win. Employees who work full-time in the office are not eligible to win. Send the correct answer or answers to this question.
March's Question:
Which of the following statements are correct about BPC employment status?
a) Pet Care Professionals who are fully available to work during all regular pet care hours are considered full-time employees
b) An employee who refuses scheduled jobs that fit into their availability & geographic location, when they don't have scheduled time-off (in Bluewave), may be subject to disciplinary action
c) BPC does not employ temporary employees
d) Pet Care Professionals who have limited but regular availability during pet care hours are consider part-time employees
e) A, B, & D are correct
f) A, B, C, & D are correct
g) None of the answers are correct
PET CARE NEWS YOU CAN USE!
I would like to bring to everyone's attention that we are still having issues with our client profiles not being updated. It is imperative that these profiles have all the details you need to perform the proper service for our clients. I know as a primary sitter of a client, you may not even look at the profile since you already know what to do. Your substitute does not have that same knowledge, so the purpose of updating your client profiles is more for the person doing the service after you. Remember, the care your substitute provides to your clients is a direct reflection of you. Therefore, make sure that your substitute has all the information necessary to do a good job. Also, I would like to clarify that once you become the primary sitter of a client, it is your responsibility to keep the profile updated even if it not completely updated when you receive it.
If you have any questions please contact theresa@beckyspetcare.com . |

Employee of the Month
ANGELA PULZONE
Angela Pulzone has been a member of the BPC team since January 2010. She has been a big help to the office these last couple of months. Angie assisted the office in covering a fellow team member's route when they had a personal emergency in addition to her own midday route. Angie always has a positive attitude and brightens up the office every time she stops by. The office really enjoys the stories she tells about her clients. We really appreciate all her hard work and dedication. Thank you Angie, and keep up the great work.

It takes Tucker a couple of months to warm up to a new dog walker and to feel comfortable enough to do his 'business'. Tucker responded to Linda immediately. With our past services, we heard that Tucker just didn't want to walk but Tucker loves to walk with Linda! And if Tucker is happy, we are happy! Linda has the magic tough". Nancy Lewis
Kathy Pulzone - "Kathy does an EXCELLENT job with my dog Kelly!" Michelle Malcahy
Connie Roberts - "I arrived home safely and Connie did a great job. I love the notes she leaves at the end of each visit." Liz Zinser

We could see how much 'Lucky' loves Becky." Sue Kremer
