data, marketing notes, pet statistics, and lots of other interesting
facts and figures. If you have questions, ask them and we will try to
answer them in an upcoming newsletter.
In May we visited and cared for 441 client pets, during 4203 visits. With an average of 5 tail wags per visit, that's 21,015 tail wags this
month - Thank you all for keeping so many pets so incredibly happy!

"The Scoop" from Becky
Becky and Kate | Get your running shoes ready! Summer is here and we are getting
busy. I hope you are as excited for another great pet care season as I am. There
are lots and lots of adorable pets getting ready for the best pet care that can
be provided. Let's get ready to give it to them!
Becky's Pet Care is considering adding a Bed & Biscuit
service for select clients. We would schedule our clients' pets to stay
in host homes while they are away. The host would care for the pets like they
were their own. Each host could only take one pet family at a time. We would
work with you to get the best pet matches possible. Please let me know if you
would like to be considered as a B&B host home.
Happy Summer!
Becky

News You Can Use from Human Resources Welcome to our new employees who
joined the BPC Team in May: Dava Carr, Katie Fallen, Jamie Pendarvis, Jazzie
Pendarvis, Rachel Sullivan, and Kristin Young.
Earn Extra $$$! Just a reminder to all
employees about the an Employee Recognition Program where employees will
receive $20 Referral Bonus in their next paycheck for every new referral
who signs up & uses service from Becky's Pet Care. Make sure they
give us your name as referring them. There is no limit to the number of
$20 referral bonuses an employee can earn.
Remember Policies All employees should have a copy of
the current Employee Handbook and Pet Care Procedures Manual.
Please take a few minutes to refresh your memory of the information contained
in these documents. The office staff will begin referring to these manuals
as needed when discussing incidents and matters that all employees should be
aware of. Two areas of the Employee Handbook that are important for you
to be aware of: (1) The "Privacy" section (page 6) that references our Privacy Policy. Please note that inappropriate
disclosure or discussion of employee information is strictly prohibited. The violation of this confidentiality will bring about disciplinary action, up
to and including immediate termination and (2) the "Performance Management
and Merit Raises" section (pages 10-11) where it states that information
about rates of pay and merit increases in pay, if any, are considered to be
confidential matters between the company and each employee, and discussing wage
information with an employee other than you Manager is considered grounds for
termination. If you have any concerns or questions about these or other
areas covered in these two manuals, please contact Theresa or Johna .
One
final note.....Just a friendly reminder to all staff members:
When you see a registration or meet and
greet on your
schedule and you are not available at that time, it is your
responsibility to call
the client and reschedule a better time that works for you. Please be
aware that you may not reschedule the actual pet visits.
Please
reference page 3 under pet care procedures in your employee handbook for
further details.
Now on to summer fun.
We are planning to hold our summer company activity in July, so be on the
lookout for more information. Have a great June!

Pet Tips
 - Heatstroke in Pets. Dogs cannot sweat to cool down like people. They can sweat a little
through their paw pads, but the main way dogs cool down (rather
inefficiently) is by panting. Dogs with short noses are even less
efficient at cooling via panting. Provide plenty of shade and water to drink.
- Fireworks and pets don't mix.
Provide your pet with a safe place to seek refuge. Dog crates, under a bed or chair, or a closet are common hiding places
for pets. Your pet chooses these places because he/she feels protected
and the noise of thunder or fireworks is muffled.

__________________________________________________________________ Employee of the Month
Patricia Hesse
Patricia has worked as a mid-day dog walker for two year.
She has stepped up and helped when the office calls with last minute
emergencies. She recently became a Senior Pet Care Provider and does
field interviews for BPC job applicants. Applicants have commented after
returning how much they learned from Patricia during the field interview.
Thanks Patricia for setting a good example of being professional at all times
and going the extra mile to care for our clients, their pets, and our
colleagues.
