ADOPTABLE PET

Hannah (Female Chow Mix, 6 years old)
"Yuck! Cat food is okay when it's all a dog can scrounge up when she's
lost, cold and hungry, but I'm sure glad I entered the trap the SPCA
set for me. Better food now, and I'm warm again. I'm a lady of a
"certain age," but even in dog years, not old. And I'm sweet natured,
if a bit shy at first. I prefer to call it modesty. Please come to
visit me and you can judge for yourself." |

Ahhhhh the lazy 'dog days' of Summer! Lounging by the pool or on the beach
with a cold drink, the smell of suntan lotion
in the air... We made it through the Winter blahs! Now, we are ready for the beach, the BBQ, the parties, and vacation. Summertime is when most of us take some time to get away. When you are planning your get away, make your pet sitting reservations, too. And don't forget, July 4th is also just around the corner.
It's our pleasure to walk your dog, play with
your cat, or simply snuggle for awhile. Whatever your request, our
professional pet sitters and dog walkers are happy to oblige. Our
services are performed with lots of hugs, kisses and reassurance so that
your pet feels loved and comforted while you're away. We're the next best thing to you :)

Preparing your Pet for Summer
Summer
is here and we will be spending more time with our pets outside. With
the summer heat and humidity, comes dangers that can be harmful to your
pet. Here are some tips in keeping our furry friends safe this summer!
Beach Fun...A day at the beach is fun for you, but can be dangerous for your pet. The saltwater is not healthy for your pet to drink and unless your pet has some shade the hot sun and sand could be hazardous!
Don't leave your pet alone in the car.... temperatures can reach 120 within an half hour. Dogs and cats can't perspire and can only dispel heat by panting and
through the pads of their feet. Pets who are left in hot cars even
briefly can suffer from heat exhaustion, heat stroke, brain damage, and
can even die. Heart-worm disease.....,
which is transmitted by mosquitoes, can be fatal in both dogs and
cats. Another summertime threat is fleas and ticks. Use only flea and
tick treatments recommended by your veterinarian.
Plant and garden fertilizers can be deadly.... We spend more time making our yard and garden pretty however remember that a lot of plant food, fertilizers, and insecticides can be fatal if your pet ingests them.
July 4th fireworks....yes, they are beautiful to watch but remember a dogs hearing is more acute than ours . Some animals get nervous and try to run away from the sound. Be alert to your dogs sensitive ears and keep them inside the house so they can feel safe.
Water safety... now that the pools are open don't leave your pet alone near a pool. Not all dogs are good swimmers. Try and rinse your dog off after he swims in a chlorinated pool and try not to let him drink the pool water. It has chemicals that can bother their tummies!
