Thank you all for writing in your comments and suggestions
As you all know change transition takes time and getting used to
The web http://www.hillygram.com/
Has many features and if used you will find it a very helpful tool
In getting the info you want and need.
I urge all of you to go to the webpage and familiarize yourself with its features
It has events in categories and dates and one just needs to get used to using it and
Then will appreciate the hard work and effort that Moshe has put into it.
The email is a supplement to the web! Remember that many of you had complained over the years that you love the Hillygram, but its way too long to read and scroll.
Yes I agree Los Angeles Orthodox community events have grown, it would be impossible to list fairly all in an email that would satisfy all the readers. Even if all readers were interested in the same events (which has a never been the case),
the placement of a particular event would be subject of complaint, everyone always requests prominent location in the email.
I even had tried to do it in fairness in date order that also was subject of many complaints.
Being that many of the readers want a quick fix, without taking the time to go to the web.
Without even trying to spend a little time to look and see all its features, no one will ever be satisfied. What can be truly done? For one thing the reader would need to put in some effort in helping it improve.
I know when I was doing the Hillygram, people sent in info last minute when it was available days and weeks earlier, mistakes that need to be corrected, etc., that and other problems just adds to the stress and difficulty in putting out a good and reliable consistent product.
I therefore suggest that if you have ideas how to improve the Hillygram, but not just complaints, but have suggestions please write in to moshe@hillygram.com
and in the subject line write: format suggestion
and direct all your emails and correspondence to Moshe
I have given the Hillygram over to him completely.
I did not sell it, I searched the past few years and have been approached by many people who wanted to take it over, and were willing to pay for it.
It took so long because though many of who were interested didn't realize how much hard work, effort and dedication it takes to run a Hillygram.
Moshe is very dedicated and has experience with such a task.
True it isn't in the style that I had it, but style can't trump
What is most important! It should be effective!!!
