Several Jewish websites are requesting that everybody sign a petition on behalf of Shalom Rubashkin.

The White House

has set up an Official petition website, that guarantees an investigation and response, if a threshold of 5000 signatures in 30 days is met. Since yesterday, the petition has gathered close to 10,000 signatures!

However, THE MORE THE BETTER!

When I signed up, after a quick perusal,

I noticed that there were less than 10 signatures from Los Angeles

Perhaps the Oilam is not aware of this

This doesn't cost money. It's just a few minutes of your time before Yom Hadin to help another Yid and his Family fight the injustice that was served on them.

The White House today released a new tool to allow people to influence government called

"We the People."

It is essentially a petition site, and they promise: "If a petition meets the signature threshold, it will be reviewed by the Administration and an official response will be issued. And we'll make sure that the petition is sent to the appropriate policy makers in the Administration."

The White House promises an official response to every petition that garners at least 5000 signatures in a span of 30 days.

In this auspicious time - Chodesh Harachamim- we can make a difference to help Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin!

A petition has been opened for him.

Time is of the essence!

Torah Learning for Collegiates, Skills Beis Medrash, Gemara in Your Kup, Outreach Center, 40+ Weekly Chavrusas, Early Morning Beis Medrash, Yeshiva for a Day, Dating-Marriage-Parenting Seminars and Counseling, Shabbatons with World Renowned Speakers, Inspiring Davening, Explanatory Services, and Women's Spirituality Programs. It is authentic Torah Judaism - whenever, whatever, however. A UCLA student returning from Israel, a man in his 50's learning Gemara for the first time, a young woman discovering her Jewish identity- these are just some of the faces seen at LINK everyday.

What's this Campaign about?
After investing nine years and well over 4 million dollars into the broader Los Angeles Jewish Community, LINK is seeking your partnership to help us with the major new expenses of creating and building our very own shul and learning center.

What is LINK's fundraising goal?
Our goal is to raise $100,000 by the end of September. This campaign starts now. We've already secured $15,612 in commitments for the first year in our new location!
We are looking for at least 150 people to commit to donating a minimum of $54 a month for the next 12 months, beginning now.

Ask any 5 year old girl about her future wedding and they will mostly likely pull out their scrapbook with all the detailed magazine clippings they have collected with pictures of their dress, the music, food, and of course, the elaborate and beautiful flower centerpieces. When the time comes, the wedding that our daughters dreamt of may not be the one that can be given. Michal Poratti has dedicated, among many things, her time and effort in making sure every girl's dream comes true on her wedding day. She spends countless hours selecting the very best silk flowers and arranging one-of-a-kind centerpieces. Anyone who has seen her work has been left speechless. Michal asks for nothing in return and truly gives of herself to her organization, Yad Simcha, just to see a bright smile. Michal and her 6 kids also arrange flowers for Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, banquets, you name it. If flowers are needed, Michal is most likely already on it. Michal is like the Energizer Bunny and works around the clock to make sure everything is done on time. She and her kids organize the drop off, arrangement on site, and pick up of all flowers. She is a one-man band but one would think she has 100 people working for her. Tomchei Shabbos provides Michal with the needed space to store her treasures.
