We are one of the Neighborhood Councils established by the City of LA to empower the people who live, work and play in the City of LA. The City is divided into numerous Council districts. A large portion of the Jewish Orthodox community in the Beverly La Brea area are represented by MCWCC. I direct you to our web site at www.midcitywest.org for additional information about the Council and out boundaries. One need only work or enjoy a park of synagogue within the geographical boundaries to be represented by MCWCC. A person is not required to live within the boundaries. We would like to be sure that the community has better access to our meetings and agendas. The Board usually meets the second Tuesday of the month at the National Council of Jewish Women building. In addition there are numerous committees meeting through out the month. Community members are encouraged to attend the meetings and to speak on the issues being discussed or on any issue that a community member (called a stakeholder) believes that the MCWCC should know about or should take some action. At our monthly Board meetings we usually have a representative of the various council and legislative offices that represent the community. In addition, the lead officers for our area from the LAPD also are given an opportunity to speak and to answer questions. Every meeting has an agenda which is published and should be circulated within the community no later than five days prior to the meetings. We would like to be able to send you the agendas and have you either post them or in someway provide a link to the agenda. Please tell me the best way to submit the agendas to you and have you "post" them. I believe that your emails are a great service to the community and the incorporation of information from MCWCC with enhance the effectiveness of the Hillygram and getting information to the community. Please fee free to contact me to discuss in more detail if you have any further questions. The MCWCC web page is located at www.midcitywest.org. |
