The Sacramento Natural Food Co-op is holding elections on September 2, 2011. Two proposed candidates are proponents of the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) group, which targets food co-ops nationwide and pressures them to boycott Israeli products. Their real goal is to delegitimize and harm the Jewish state. We must ensure that they are defeated in this election! To do that, we are asking every member of the Jewish community to join the Co-op so they can vote. They must sign-up by August 2nd.
Cost to join the Co-op is $25 plus a $5 non-refundable processing fee. Should you choose to leave the Co-op after the election, you will be refunded $25.
Please follow this link to our membership packet. It is important to follow the instructions carefully, specifically, it is vitally important that the applications be mailed to the Federation office: 2014 Capitol Ave., Suite 109 , Sacramento , CA 95811 , Attention: John Boisa, JCRC Director.
We can defeat BDS decisively if we take this simple, affordable step. Please forward this message to all of your congregants, friends, and neighbors throughout California since that is the only requirement for membership. We need everyone's help!
Read more about BDS at Divest This, the Sacramento Bee editorial, which appeared July 8th and in the Sacramento Press.
