SECURITY ALERT FOR INFORMATION ONLY ~ ATTEMPT BURGLARY Today (06-02-11) at 11:10 AM, in the 100 block S. Highland (a non-client) went out for walk. Upon her return, she observed a male African-American, light skin, brown curly hair, wearing a blue T-Shirt, black shorts and white socks pulled up to the knees, on her property. She held her position away from her home and observed the suspect walk through (or jumped over) a pedestrian gate on the north side of the property and into her side yard where she lost sight of him. She immediately called LAPD. Before the PD arrived, the victim observed the suspect hop the driveway gate on the south side of her home from her back yard run to a black sedan and entered the passenger side of the vehicle (indicating there may have been a driver partner). There was no further description. The information was given to our SSA Patrol Officer by LAPD Wilshire Area unit 7A17. When the police department arrived they found the rear window screen was cut and protective window bars pried in an attempt to enter. No entry was apparently made. The description of this suspect is very similar to the suspect description of the recent alerts of burglaries. As more information develops, the information will be disseminated. This is a reminded that at all times when you depart your home, set your alarm, ensure you take your cell phone with you and be cognizant of your surrounding and your home when returning.
