As you may have heard him say in his State of the City speech last month, the Mayor is committed to filling our potholes. Along those lines, the Mayor and his Office is launching "Operation Pothole."
The official launch is this weekend of May 14th and 15th, in cooperation with the non-profit organization,
BigSunday.org
. The Mayor is asking you to be the City's eyes on the streets, and help identify the potholes which are the most vexing to you. The culmination of this campaign will be June 4th and 5th when nearly a hundred City Street Services crews will blanket
Los Angeles
with goal of filling 20,000 potholes.
Please see the
Pothole Patrol flyer
for more information.
Here are essential steps (that you'll also see in the flyer):
- Organize a Pothole Patrol for your neighborhood.
- Call 3-1-1 to report potholes.
- Report potholes online at
- http://bss.lacity.org/request.htm
- Starting this weekend, with pencil and paper in hand, walk through your neighborhood with your Pothole Patrol and systematically document potholes.
- If this weekend is too soon for you, patrol the following weekend or at a later time. Just remember that you will need you to report to the City as soon as possible, so that the City can schedule your filling for the June 4th & 5th Operation Pothole event.
