Regarding orders for Pesach - if anyone has reserved atoddler car seatfor their grandchildren coming for Pesach please note the following:
TheAmerican Academy of Pediatricshas issued a new recommendation. Children under 2 years old
(but over 1 year old) should not be in a "toddler"front facing car seat. They should remain in aREAR-FACING "infant" car seatafter the age of 1 and 20 pounds. The front facing car seat is not safe enough for their size, proportion and other considerations. It is not safe until the child is at least 2 years old. The findings are published in today's NY Times.
Thus, if anyone has reserved a toddler car seat with the intention of using it for their "under-2" baby/grandchild, please contact the Baby Equipment Gemach323-243-7116to switch your order to a rear-facing car seat. Due to the newest safety rules, the gemach will not be lending front-facingtoddler car seatsfor under-2-year use.
