A call-out meeting for Guerin Catholic's Rocket Club is scheduled for Tuesday October 9th at 7:00 pm., in Mrs. Kennedy's room.  Parents and students are asked to attend.

The Rocket Club involves building and flying model rockets in a variety of formats and competitions. It is also all about solving engineering problems, particularly in a team format. The Club is aimed at students interested in STEM (Science / Technology / Engineering / Math), but diverse needs of the Club include those who would pursue community outreach / marketing, aesthetic styling of the prototypes, documentation / website, and other non - STEM functions.

Last year's club was successful in qualifying for the TARC National Fly off and even won the presentation competition. We look forward to building on the success of last year's team.

Students interested in learning more should see Mr. Kirkwood or Mrs. Kennedy.

Girl's Golf
The Girls Golf Team
season has come to a close. It was a terrific season! The team competed in 17 matches, and came away with only two losses for the season.  The GCHS team had it's strongest season to date from a dual match standpoint.  Individually the Guerin Catholic girls posted the low Medalist scores in over 70% of our matches (that's a testament to the individual improvements for our team). The team finished 4th out of 12 teams in sectionals, and had a team member compete as an individual in regionals. We especially recognize the accomplishments of our two seniors who were strong leaders both on and off the golf course: Kara McDonald and Nora Sego. We look forward to welcoming back the remaining players next year: Sarah Baxter, Mariah Callon, Rachel Cockman, Maggie Kroeff, Maddie Lorek, and Lucy Stevens. We are very proud of the entire team for their commitment to the game of golf and for being such good representatives of GCHS. Special thanks also go to Coach Mark Mathews!

Football

Good luck to our Golden Eagles who take on Brebeuf tonight at 7 pm at Guerin Catholic. Watch live on the Guerin Catholic Faith Network.
--"Marian University Night" Happy to welcome the Knights to GC!!!

Sectionals begin next Monday at Guerin Catholic, with the Golden Eagles taking on University on Wednesday at 5 pm. Come out and support your #1 State ranked Men's Soccer Team.
Go Golden Eagles!!

Girl's Soccer
The Women's Soccer Team ended their regular season with a big win over New Palestine on Thursday.  The score was 5 to 1 for the varsity and 9 to 0 for the JV Gold team.    The girls are now headed into sectional play.   Please come out to cheer on them on Thursday, October 4th at 7pm at the Carmel Soccer Stadium.  The Golden Eagles will take on the winner of the Lebanon vs. Zionsville game.   It should be an exciting match!

JJCelebrate 3rd Anniversary of the Canonization of Saint Jeanne Jugan

The Little Sisters of the Poor and the Residents of St. Augustine's Home invite the public to a Celebration in honor of St. Jeanne Jugan on the occasion of the third anniversary of her canonization; October 11, 2012 at the Carmel Palladium, Carmel, IN. Jeanne Jugan is the foundress of the Little Sisters of the Poor. Dr. Gatz was cured of terminal esophageal cancer, opening the door to St. Jeanne's canonization.

Highlighting the evening is a musical presentation on the life of Jeanne Jugan, featuring the Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St Theodore Guerin High School choirs and Jeannine Hong, local musical artist.  In addition, Edward Gatz, MD from Omaha, NE will share the story firsthand of his diagnosis of terminal cancer, and his remarkable cure which proved to be the final, documented miracle in Jeanne Jugan's cause for sainthood.
