 Mr. Wagner's Letter
This will be my final Updates letter for the 2011-2012 school year. I wanted to take the opportunity to share a few thoughts about my upcoming ordination and thank the Guerin Catholic community for its role in my faith formation. People are not called to a vocation or formed in their faith in isolation. Much like raising children, it takes a village to form a person in his or her faith. I credit my supportive and loving family, my life-long parish of St. Pius X, and the Guerin Catholic community for helping me along on my faith journey. (more...)
Commencement Commencement exercises for the Class of 2012 will take place on Sunday, June 2, at 2 p.m. in the Guerin Catholic gymnasium. The ceremony will be streamed live via the Guerin Catholic Website Live Broadcast Link.

Congratulations to the 117-member class of 2012 who were offered more than $13 million in college scholarships, and who have a 100% college matriculation rate!!!
Our Guerin Catholic graduates are going on to attend some of the world's most prestigious universities and will certainly take a piece of Guerin Catholic with them as they Lead with Humility, Serve with Love, and Trust in Providence!!

Summer Reading & 2012-13 Textbook Lists Summer Reading The summer reading list is now available for all students who will be attending Guerin Catholic HS for the 2012-13 school year, including incoming freshmen. The list can be found by clicking HERE or on the home page or under "Academics" on the Guerin Catholic website.

Please remember that a textbook may have more than one correct ISBN# and copyright date. Author, title, publisher and edition are most important! Follett Book Buyback
Follett Books will be at Guerin Catholic on Tuesday, June 12 from 10:00am-1:00pm in the cafetorium to buy back your used books. Follett sets the prices they will pay and will often purchase books that will no longer be used at Guerin Catholic. Parent Guild Used Book & Uniform Sale (UBUS)
The Parent Guild will host the Used Book and Uniform Sale this summer
June 12-13 and July 18.
- June 12: The Parent Guild will host a Book Buyback from 10am -1pm and 4pm-7pm for textbooks and used uniforms from parents wishing to sell these items. (Follett will also be onsite June 12 to purchase used books but will ONLY be available that day from 10 am-1 pm).
- June 13 from 4pm-7pm will sell textbooks and uniforms.
- Our July 18 sale is a one day event.
- 10am-1pm--The Parent Guild will Buy Back books and uniforms
- 4pm-7pm--Parent Guild will sell textbooks and uniforms

Summer Happenings Please keep Mr. Wagner in your prayers as he will be ordained into the Permanent Diaconate for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis on June 23. Later that same day, Deacon Rick (as he will be known) will say his first mass at St. Pius X Catholic Church at 5 p.m. A short time later, on July 7, he will say the mass celebrating the sacrament of marriage for his daughter Laura and our very own Joey Garcia.Also, Please keep Mr. Wopata and Miss Wassel in your prayers as on June 23, at St. Maria Goretti through the sacrament of holy matrimony, they will become Mr. & Mrs. Wopata! Congratulations all! Guerin Catholic Theatre Camp Guerin Catholic Alum and New York University Tisch School of the Arts student John McLean will host a Theatre Camp at Guerin Catholic from June 25-29. St. Vincent is again offering physicals to Guerin Catholic student-athletes for $20 on Sunday, June 10, at the Carmel St.Vincent location.

Athletics Updates
Men's GolfTough hot day on Saturday for Guerin Catholic Men's Golf. We finished 5th in a strong field of 20 teams. Mitch Thiem led the way with a solid 75, Ryan Kimmerling with an 80, Ryan Stano with an 82, Travis Fellmeth with and 85, and Jack Zachary with an 88.
The Golf Team took a hard loss on the chin Tuesday losing to HSE and LC. We ended a great season losing our only match of the year but still had a very solid season that we can be proud of heading into sectionals. Led by Mitchell Paige with a solid 37, followed by Ryan Kimmerling with a 39, Mitch Thiem with 40, Ryan Stano 41, Henry Stevens 43, and Jacob King with 45.

Great Season Team!
Track & Field Kent Garrett looks to add some hardware and lower his school records this Saturday at the IHSAA State Track Championships. Kent is slated to run the 1600 at 6:35 pm and then come back to run the 3200 at 8:15 pm. Good luck to Kent!
Academic All-State was recently announced and Guerin Catholic was well represented:
Academic All-State Honors go to Morgan Abernathy and Matthew Macke! Academic All-State Honorable Mention go to Kathleen Wannemuehler, Kent Garrett and Austin Gerulski! Congratulations!
Softball The Golden Eagle softball team finished a their record breaking season last week with a loss to Mt. Vernon in the sectional championship. The team would like to thank our two seniors, Emma Storen and Anna Koehl for all they have done the last four years. They were both recognized by the ICGSA as Academic All-State Honorable Mention for softball this past week. Thank you seniors and congratulations!
Guerin Catholic Summer Softball League Any players entering grades 7-12 are welcome to play on our summer softball team. We will play every Tuesday and Thursday this summer and will compete against some of the best programs in the area. Any player interested should contact Coach Meaghan Neman for further details. We look forward to meeting you this summer!
Save the Date! We realize that summer is just getting under way but wanted to be sure to communicate the date for our Annual Back to School Bash! This year's bash will take place on Saturday, August 11 at Guerin Catholic and will feature many new aspects, including---tours of the new academic wing!!
Admissions Assistant Position The Director of Admissions (Chyrise King) is now accepting resumes and cover letters (through June 8) for a part time assistant position in the Admissions Office.
