The Indiana Blood Center and Guerin Catholic's Art Club would like to thank everyone who donated and/or tried to donate at last Friday's Blood Drive. Despite the Tornado Warning, we were able to collect 112 units of blood. That is wonderful considering we had around 20 people who were donating and/or were ready to donate when the warning was announced. A special "thank you" goes out to Jets Pizza and The Sweet Life for their food donations. Way to go, Guerin Catholic!

Hockey

Your hockey team finished strong in the ISHSHA state tournament, 3A division, last weekend.  NHC  started the weekend with a win over Penn. 4-1, with four goals scored by Guerin Catholic skaters - two for Kyle Brinkworth and one each for Andrew Eicher and David Shingler.  In the next game the Millers lost to Leo, 4-2, with David Shingler contributing a goal in that effort.  In the Sunday game, your team defeated Munster, 5-3, with Brinkworth and Shingler each contributing a goal to the victory.  The two victories did not earn your team a berth in the championship game to be played this weekend, but your skaters finished the season on a high note with the two wins.

Guerin Catholic senior skater Andrew Eicher received the ISHSHA Commissioner's STEM Academic Achievement Scholarship Award (and scholarship) for demonstrating academic excellence in high school mathematics and science combined with outstanding participation in high school athletic competition, team spirit and good sportsmanship.  The NHC hockey players and families take great pride in Andrew's selection for this prestigious award and his selection to the Academic All-State Team.   Way to represent!  Your hockey update is signing off for the season, but stay tuned for some exciting developments next season as your Guerin Catholic skaters take the ice!

yiYoung Investors
Congratulations to Guerin Catholic's Business Foundation's Young Investors.  Students were assigned the task to invest $10,000.00 in the stock market and track it for 8 weeks.  In 8 weeks time our young investors had a gain of $31,000.00.  Students researched companies and came up with a portfolio of a minimum of three companies.  The big winners - Apple, Ford, and GM.  Our top investor was Meg Nowak with a gain of $3,082.00.  George Poppas was a very close second with  $2,849.00.  Great job!
