When speaking to my spiritual director about prayer not too long ago, I mentioned that I sometimes feel guilty as it seems all I do is dump my troubles on God. Fr. Bob assured me that God is OK with being dumped on, but that He also wants a relationship with me. "Go ahead and leave your troubles at His feet, but spend some time with Him, too. (more...)

Xavier Thomas Murphy Memorial Scholarship
Guerin Catholic is pleased to announce that it is accepting applications from rising juniors for the $1,000 Xavier Thomas Murphy Memorial Scholarship to Guerin Catholic High School. Those eligible to apply are students completing their junior year at Guerin Catholic and preparing to enter their senior year with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Spring Fever Week
March 5-9 - SPRING FEVER WEEK! (A note from the Student Council):
We are starting this tradition this year and hopefully it will be really fun! Student Council figured these winter/spring months get pretty boring so we wanted to do something to mix it up a bit and boost morale!
We have a lot of activities planned including COIN WARS at lunch, which will benefit Cathedral Soup Kitchen and Catholic Relief Services. The wars will be between the classes and the winner gets to choose who plays against who in the DODGEBALL TOURNAMENT which will take place Friday during a convocation. Students will be able to enter their names at lunch every day of the week to be apart of their class's dodgeball team. Student Council has many SURPRISES planned for the week as well including a free t-shirt raffle!
We will also be able to dress up during the week:

Chris Herren to Speak at Guerin Catholic
Save the Date for
Monday, March 19, when
former NBA player
Chris Herren will visit Guerin Catholic to speak to students about his life of stardom, addiction, failure and recovery.
Herren will speak to Guerin Catholic students and junior high students from the Carmel Deanery schools at 12:30 p.m. on March 19. Herren will have a separate presentation for parents at 7 p.m. that evening.

Trivia Challenge-Friday, March 16
Volunteers are STILL needed for TRIVIA NIGHT--Friday, March 16th
at Guerin Catholic High School. This annual fundraiser needs many hands to help create the fun and festive atmosphere the event is known for...here are the opportunities:
DAY OF EVENT: (Friday, March 16th)12pm - 5pm : Parents and Students are invited to help with SET UP for the event. Tables, Chairs, Linens, Ice, Beverages, etc.
Students may arrive AFTER SCHOOL for SERVICE HOUR opportunities. If interested, please email Jackie Mewborn at

Scheduling Information Night On Wednesday, March 7th, we will hold our Scheduling Information Night for 9th-11th grade parents at 7:00pm in the Guerin Catholic Cafetorium. Information that we've shared with the students about the scheduling process will be covered as well as specific information regarding the International Baccalaureate Programme. We also will explain how to help students complete the Course Selection Sheets and answer any questions. Please make an effort to be in attendance in order to receive any necessary information to help your son or daughter plan their course requests for the 2012-2013 school year. Please note that this program is intended for parents only.

Our first NIKE online store has been hugely successful! Thanks to all for your orders of Guerin Catholic merchandise. Because of the obvious demand for NIKE items, Mrs. Ward will organize another online store, with a wider variety of products, to be launched in early April.

Father Kevin Fitzgerald, founding member of "Do No Harm"-- The Coalition of Americans for Research Ethics who have banded together to promote ethical stem cell research, will be our featured speaker. Fr. Fitzgerald, although internationally known, is near and dear to our hearts as he presided over the marriage ceremony of our own Mrs. Kennedy and her husband John in 1993!!! Let's show him a grand Guerin Catholic welcome!!

Mock Trial
Congratulations to Guerin Catholic's Mock Trial Team who finished 5th out of 9 teams and advanced to the Hamilton County Tournament on Saturday, February 25. Guerin Catholic lost to Fishers in the quarter finals of the tournament. Fishers went on to the finals and were runner up in the tournament. Clairissa Corpstein was runner-up for her portrayal of witness Lee Way. This year's mock trial team was comprised of Senior - Maribeth Allen; Juniors - Grace Abernathy, Clairissa Corpstein, Matt Kaufman, Jason Lloyd; Sophomores - Matthew Bickel, Tom Bright, Jack Petrie, and Zach Richardson; Freshman - Molly Moran.
Pro-Life 101 at Guerin Catholic
