Thanks to the more than 300 grandparents who visited our campus on Monday, October 3 to celebrate the feast day of St. Theodore Guerin with us! All-school mass with Bishop Emeritus William Higi was fabulous and we presented Bishop Higi, founding Bishop of Guerin Catholic, with an icon of Mother Theodore. Mass was followed by a presentation from the writer of the icon---Jan Storms!! It was a fabulous morning at Guerin Catholic High School! We are truly blessed!!

Nothing says Sunday morning like mass and a hockey game!   Just ask any Canadian Catholic kid or your Guerin Catholic skaters on the NHC hockey team.  On October 2, NHC tied the Rampage from Owensboro, KY, after going down 3-0 in the first half of the first period.  Guerin Catholic skaters scored the next three goals -- two by David Shingler and one by Luke DeWaal -- to tie the game 3-3.  League play begins on October 9 against South Stars Red at 12:30 pm at the Forum in Fishers.  On October 16, NHC takes on Carmel Blue at 12:30 pm at the Forum.  Your team is playing great hockey.  Show them some support and come out to a game!

Golf

The Girls Golf Team season comes to a close with its best record in Guerin Catholic history!  In the regular season the team won 16 out of 18 matches.  In Sectionals the team placed 3rd out of 9 teams, advancing to Regionals as a team for the first time in Guerin Catholic history ... where the team placed 4th out of 12 teams just missing State qualification as a top 3 team.  Lucy Stevens qualified to move on from Regionals to State by virtue of her individual score as a top 3 player and played in the first day of State before missing qualification for the final day of competition.  Congratulations to the entire team for a very impressive season:  Sarah Baxter, Mariah Callon, Whitney Gryna, Maggie Kroeff, Audrey Larkin, Kara Linton, Kara McDonald, Nora Sego, Lucy Stevens, and Sydney Sweitzer, as well as Coach Mark Mathews and Asst. Coach Peggy Stevens!  Special recognition goes to 2011 Team Captain senior Whitney Gryna who will be graduating (we'll miss you!) and Lucy Stevens for her top scores!
