Director's Updates Michelle Martin, Ed.S., Director
Hello dear friends,
I am hoping your summer has been relaxing and rejuvenating. We have been having extreme fun in our fast-growing holistic Camp Insight where the children are stretching both literally & figuratively and building resilience while having a blast. It is not your typical camp with evidence ranging from their Reiki hands to becoming and dressing as personal superheroes (who meditate), to writing their own song! There are a couple of spots open for the week of August 16th, so if you know someone who is interested! (see link below). Also, I welcome new applicants for TKD Fusion so let me know if you would like to join our Fall Session!
Personally, I returned recently from Italy and a first time visit filled with awe and inspiration from breathtaking vistas in Tuscany to the magnificent Sistine Chapel. The art of the masters and stupendous architecture of Venice led me to a deep respect for the depth and soul of such old, old culture and history. I came back more devoted than ever to offering ways to help our children and their parents find their way in these difficult times. Our children have so much to help preserve and to offer to make this world a better place and I am thankful to have the privilege to be a support to them. |
What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet and hands that correspond to an individual's organs and body systems. Besides soothing tired feet, the practice is a great stress reliever and provides many health benefits. Through application of pressure on these reflex points, reflexology relieves tension, improves circulation and encourages overall healing. Practitioners find that applying pressure to these areas can promote health in the corresponding organs through energetic pathways. The pressure sends signals that balance the nervous system and release endorphins that reduce pain and stress. Insight Wellness now provides reflexology services from two wonderful practitioners: Maebelle Algee and Terry Carine. For more on these practitioners, please see our website www.insight-wellness.com. To schedule an appointment, call 216.765.4471. World Reflexology Week is September 20 - 26. Insight Wellness will host reflexology demonstrations mini sessions to let you sample the service yourself! Look for details in an upcoming newsletter. Why try reflexology?
