Public outcry over the suspicious death of a widely known dissident is growing. Li Wangyang has been under house arrest for 22 years for his involvement in the Tiananmen Square Protests on June 4, 1989. Authorities allege that he hanged himself but photos released by family members as well as a record of prior mistreatment have sparked an online petition calling for a forensic investigation. Although Communist Party officials would liked to see June 4th come and go with little fanfare, this year's anniversary has an impressive protest in Hong Kong with180,000 participants and at least one public march in Beijing over Mr. Li's death. [Watch-2]

High ranking officials with the means to flee China are more the norm than the exception. Vast number of government and party officials have transferred huge wealth -  often earned through illicit means, to family members overseas, paving the way for their move when the time is right. The phenomenon is so widespread that there is a term for it: "naked officials".
