ShenYunInNewYork

The annual performance of Shen Yun Performing Arts is one of the major NTD-sponsored cultural events in New York City. This year the 2012 season of Shen Yun played to packed houses at Lincoln Center's David H. Koch Theater from January 11-15. Audience from all walks of life braved the cold weather to experience Shen Yun's unique presentation of traditional Chinese culture. Leonard Sussman, former Director of Freedom House, was really impressed by Shen Yun's message, as well as its "sense of conveying words and thoughts into dance, which I think is a really triumphant thing."

After seeing the show, Ambassador Josephine Ojiambo, Deputy Permanent Representative at the Kenya Permanent Mission to the United Nations, proclaimed, "I do hope that Shen Yun performers can also come to my country and share their beautiful culture." While Shen Yun's final itinerary is not completely finalized, its three traveling companies have been confirmed to visit over 100 cities in North America, Europe, Asia and Oceania. Kenya may not be out of the question!
