On Wednesday, August 10th, Seaport Family Practice will upgrade its computer software. This change will qualify us for Meaningful Use- the government's reward program for practices that fully utilize the electronic medical record. We will have a skeleton crew working that day, but medical records will not be available. If you need a same-day appointment, medication refill, or question answered, we will be happy to help you, but without the benefit of access to your electronic medical record. We are proud of our efforts to improve Seaport Family Practice. We were the first in Waldo County to: - Use electronic medical records (2001).
- Use e-prescribing (2006).
- Earn NCQA certification as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (2007).
- Offer internet access to the patient medical record (2007).
- Be chosen for the Maine Patient-Centered Medical Home Pilot (2010).
- Integrate behavioral health and alternative medicine into primary care (2010).
- Offer group visits for diabetes, opioid addiction, and support for seniors (2010).
- Qualify for Meaningful Use (2011).
- Implement a Patient Advisory Team (2011).
Thank you for your patience and support. Sincerely, David Loxterkamp, M.D., Medical Director Seaport Family Practice, P.A. 41 Wight Street Belfast, ME 04915
