Register for NACCHO Webinar to Launch STD Program Adaptation and Partner Engagement Resource Kit
On Tuesday, May 15 from 3-4:30 PM EDT, NACCHO will host a webinar to launch its online STD Program Adaptation and Partner Engagement Resource Kit. The Resource Kit will feature five local health department (LHD) STD programs that have collaborated with community partners to adapt their programs to meet local needs and will provide tools, resources, and lessons learned in the development and implementation of each program. During the webinar, a representative from each LHD will present and NACCHO staff will review how to access and use the Resource Kit. The webinar will end with a Q&A session. To register, click here.

Register for "More than Facebook: Harnessing Technology to Prevent STDs in Teens" Webinar
NCSD and Answer are hosting this webinar to provide an overview of innovative technology that can be used to educate youth about sexual health and STD prevention. CDC Public Health Grand Rounds on Multidrug-Resistant Gonorrhea 
This month's Public Health Grand Rounds will explore the development of antibiotic resistance in Neisseria gonorrhoeae, a growing public health concern. The session will be held on Tuesday, May 15 from 1-2:00 PM EDT. For non-CDC staff, a live external webcast will be available. To access the webcast, click here. Presentations from the session will be archived and posted online after the webcast. Continuing education hours for Grand Rounds are issued online through the CDC/ATSDR Training and Continuing Education Online system.

HRSA Funding Announcement to Support New Part C Programs Offering Early HIV Intervention Services
Last week, the HIV/AIDS Bureau (HAB) of the Human Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) issued a Funding Opportunity Announcement that will support between five and ten new Ryan White HIV/AIDS Part C programs offering early HIV intervention services. Local health departments are among the eligible applicants for this funding announcement. More details are available on HRSA's Funding Opportunities page and via this video featuring HRSA's Associate Administrator for HAB, Dr. Deborah Parham Hopson. Applications are due May 25, 2012 and can be accessed at Grants.gov.

Ryan White Reauthorization Feedback Page Launched
Last week, HRSA launched a web page for providing feedback on the reauthorization of the Ryan White Program. Currently authorized by the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Extension Act of 2009, the program will be up for reauthorization by the U.S. Congress in 2013. To inform that reauthorization, HRSA encourages stakeholders, including local health departments, to provide comments on all aspects of the program. The comment period is open until July 31, 2012. Additionally, HRSA will be holding regional listening sessions, which will provide additional opportunities for stakeholder input. To find out more, click here.

CDC Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention Releases Annual Report
The Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention (DHAP) recently released its inaugural annual report, Accelerating Progress, Investing for Impact. The report provides an overview of some of the HIV prevention activities conducted and supported by the CDC during late 2010 to the end of 2011.
