CDC Campaign Targets Black MSM

The CDC has launched a campaign, "Testing Makes Us Stronger," targeting black men who have sex with men (MSM), the population most affected by HIV/AIDS. The campaign aims to increase knowledge and awareness about HIV/AIDS, in order to increase rates of testing. The website offers campaign resources, such as fact sheets, posters, banner ads, and more.
Survey Asks Mississippi Parents about Sex Education
The Center for Mississippi Health Policy recently conducted a study on parents' attitudes regarding the content of sex education curriculum. The study found that the majority of parents believe that sex education should begin in middle school, should be comprehensive, and should be determined by public health professionals. This study may be an important influence when local school boards decide between abstinence-only and abstinence-plus curricula in 2012. Learn more about the study and its implications.

Rapid Syphilis Test Pamphlet

Syphilis rates have been on the rise since 2001. Most cases are simple to treat, but early testing and screening are essential. The National Coalition of STD Directors present this pamphlet, which is designed to educate health professionals about the need for increased screening and testing among high risk populations and to discuss the implications of the first ever rapid syphilis test.
