NACCHO's HIV/STI Prevention "Tool of the Week"                                      This week's tool from NACCHO's Toolbox is an Adolescent Reproductive Health Coding Sheet. This resource was developed by members of the Section on Adolescent Health of the American Academy of Pediatrics to provide an overview of minors' right to consent for reproductive health services.
Indianapolis Walgreens Now Offering Specialized HIV/AIDS Care
The chain pharmacy Walgreens has instituted a new program to provide HIV-infected people with high quality HIV/AIDS care. This store has a pharmacist on staff who is trained about HIV issues and helps patients to understand treatment regimens and the importance of adhering to medication. Article Examines the Relationship Between Alcohol Problems and Trichomonas vaginalis Among Women Living with HIV
This article, published in the Journal of Sexually Transmitted Infections, examines the association between alcohol problems, sexual behavior and biologically confirmed sexually transmitted infections (STI) among a sample of predominantly African-American women living with HIV. To access an abstract of this article, click here.
Scholarships Available to Attend the One Voice: Reproductive Health and Population Summit
The Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS) is planning to award scholarships for young people between the ages of 16-24 to attend the One Voice: Reproductive Health and Population Summit in Washington, DC. To enter the competition, applicants must submit an essay of no more than 500 words about the potential roles youth can play in advocating for a more just and sustainable world, where all people have access to sexual and reproductive health services and a healthy environment.
