NACCHO Peer Technical Advisor Opportunity
NACCHO is developing a network of local health department (LHD) peer technical advisors to provide technical assistance to local health departments (LHDs) to improve their capacity to develop or enhance HIV, STI and/or unintended pregnancy prevention programs. This opportunity will allow peer technical advisors to share their expertise, experience, and knowledge with other LHDs interested in establishing or improving similar programs. 2009 National School-Based Health Care Convention Call For Abstracts
The National Assembly on School-Based Health Care (NASBHC) will be hosting its annual National School-Based Health Care Convention this year on June 24-27, 2009 in Hollywood, Florida. NASBHC is now accepting workshop and poster abstracts.
Priorities for workshop and poster abstracts include:
- Solutions for reducing health inequities
- Alternative school-based health care models
- Multiculturalism
- Youth development, advocacy, and leadership
- Communications strategies
- Resource development

U.S. Preventive Services Task Force Releases Updated Sexually Transmitted Disease Prevention Counseling Recommendations
The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) has released updated recommendations advocating for 'high-intensity' behavioral counseling for all sexually active adolescents and high-risk adults.
