Joan's pick this week: Vintage Sari Quilts & Scarves
I spent hours finding the most beautiful designs for our stores.
Don't you just love these quilts!?
They are truly inspirational for decorating any room in the house.
Throw over a bed, make a curtain out of one, you could even use for a
bedspread. Each is absolutely one of a kind. And each one is gorgeous!

Wondering what is going on at the Main House? You're not the only one. | Design Master Confronts the Design Disaster If you're reading this, you probably know my mom. You know,
the design maven, the "hardest workin' woman in retail", the
"real" Martha Stewart™ (kidding Martha!). Joan.
Well, I'm Gregg. I've been working with her for about 25
years now. At first, it was, admittedly, somewhat imaginary (me, 12 years old, starring
down cars as they drove by, willing them to stop and shop). But a year or so
later, her early investment in Apple technology (1982: Apple IIe, $2,500) paid
off, and I was able to pull together her first mailing list on Filemaker II.
Ever since, whether at home or abroad, I've been point on all things
technology-driven.
A funny consequence of being the son of a design
hero? I don't know a thing about
home design. When I took down a wall in the Main House, my education began.

them). Week one started on Wednesday, July 28th, with Cukes and Zukes Week.

Thanks to author, Diane Meier, for this Hammertown "shout out" on her new blog site!
Here's a portion of Diane's lovely post about Hammertown:
Reflecting the joys and the challenges of her customer's lives,
Hammertown is not bound by a price point or even a category of
merchandise. It is truly a lifestyle store - from the proverbial soup
to nuts. From food to furniture, bedding to baby's gifts, rugs to
earrings and all the way to the occasional novel (mine), design book,
cook book, or letter opener that Joan just knows will fulfill her
customers.

This Week's Recipe: Grilled Chicken, Tomato, Mozzarella & Snow Pea
Salad with Cilantro Agave Dressing
Please welcome our new guest recipe blogger, Dori Cassar. This is the
beginning of our food series by Doris who is not only a friend and a
customer but also a fabulous cook! She'll be sharing a recipe every other week. I love the combination of warm grilled chicken with bright, crisp
vegetables and the sweet, fresh taste of the Cilantro Agave dressing.
This meal is so easy to prepare, it's more of a spontaneous vision than a
recipe.
