 Our deepest thanks to everyone who reached out to us last week after
reading about Abby's passing. Beyond the numerous comments to our memorial,
we received countless emails from friends and strangers alike. It seems
that there are many in our community who recognize and value the role

Episode 5 of Doodletown Farm - "Retain! Recycle! Repurpose!"
 I don't know if you remember what June and July of 2008 were like.
I do. They were very hot and humid. Just the kind of weather you want
for ripping out old walls and scooping up 200 years of cobwebs and
rodent droppings.

A Boondoggle Theatre "Gig" in Martha's Vineyard
 Our website editor Auntie M (aka Mary Murfitt) is also a
composer/
lyricist as well as an actor. Just recently she was offered
an acting "gig" in Martha's Vineyard. She's there right now working on
a new musical with an old friend and colleague of hers. I asked her if
she would send us some "postcards from the road" thinking it might be

Hammertown Garden: A Rock and a Hard Place

of us have that spot in the garden where nothing seems to grow. Whether
it's too shady , too sunny or just really bad soil, a native plant
might do the trick. By using native plants, we can also avoid invasive plants that are harmful to our open space.
