Doodletown Farm - Episode Four: Hands On Experience?
Jack and I knew that we wanted to help as much as possible during
the renovation but first we needed to refine (or in my case, develop)
some skills. First up was a screened pavilion that we built across the stream
based on the BBQ shacks that Jack remembered from North Carolina.

An Exhibition of Still-Life Paintings by Suzanne Ouelette
Suzanne is one of my customers at Hammertown Barn and I was so
impressed when I saw her work. Now through June 30th, you really must make an effort to see
it at Chaiwalla...which I also love. Their teas and desserts are amazing
but my favorite is their famous Tomato Pie. Tea Room at Chaiwalla is open Wednesday through Sunday, 10 AM to 6PM. Click here for more info...

Welcome our new Choice: Wanda Furman - Home Style Consultant
I go to Wanda often to ask for her "fresh eye" in my own home...what I
need to keep...what's working...what isn't. She styled my home for the APG
Garden Tour last summer. Wanda really does help you bring your soul,
style and spirit into your home. She's helped me a lot with mine and I know she can help with yours.
A recent client of Wanda's recently called me and said "I've been 'Furmanized' ". I knew what she meant. She was ready to throw out every piece of furniture in her home and Wanda showed her how to make much of what she already had work. Wanda is amazing.

Hammertown Garden: "Black Gold"...and we ain't talking that nasty OIL!
BLACK GOLD FOR YOUR GARDEN
-- An organic garden cannot be without compost. Composting may seem time consuming but it is well worth it.
Make a bin, buy a bin or just find an
area on your property for a compost heap. The bin size or heap area
will depend on the amount of waste you produce.

Mario Batali - Why we love him at Hammertown! I just got an email from my old friends, Miles and Lillian Kahn, who
until recently owned Coach Farms (and Coach leather before that). They
also happen to be Mario Batali's mother and father-in-law. Miles sent me a recent interview Mario did with Harvard
Business Review. I've known Mario a long time and so, I thought I knew a lot
about him but boy was I wrong. He's an even greater guy than I thought! Read more...

And speaking of Mario...This Week's Recipe: Mario's Three Bean Salad
Mario Batali's newest cookbook, Molto Gusto, Easy Italian Cooking, brings simple Italian fare into our homes. Here's a simple, seasonal recipe to enjoy. I recommend this book as a
definite must for your culinary library. It's already in mine!
