Joan's Pick this Week: Totseat - For babies who lunch
These are perfect for when there is no highchair available. This award winning portable highchair is the
most versatile on the market, converting dining chairs of all shapes
and sizes into a highchair and it squashes into its own travel pouch (and is completely machine washable.) Great to keep in the car for summer on vacations or road trips...you never know if restaurants have high chairs!

Thai Cooking Class - Another smashing success!
From greeting our students with fresh orange juice and mimosas, to
the tasting feast that followed, we now have another hit class on our
Hammertown Cooking School menu.
Everyone loved America's class. One member of our class was so excited and confident about what he had
learned in our class, that he went home and made the meal for a dinner
party that very evening! Read more...

Our Hammertown Garden is almost ready for planting!
The first seeds have been sown indoors and this week Danielle and Crystal "mended" the soil by turning it over and adding compost and other
organic matter in preparation for planting. There was a lot of weeding and digging and raking involved. They were
also able to save and reposition a lot of perennial plants and herbs
around the garden itself. Click here to see what we've started...

Historic White Hart Inn in Salisbury gets a "local" makeover
The "new" White Hart Inn looks beautiful and is definitely more
upscale. Yet owners, Scott and Roxanne Bok have made a real effort to remain true to the
White Hart's early roots--a simple inn and local tavern. They also insisted on using local businesses in the makeover... including Hammertown. The restaurant is serving locally produced food and providing "us locals" with affordable, eat your view meals! Kudos to the owners of The White Hart! Read more here... |

NickBee's Eco-Store: Local Inkjet & Toner Source - Save money and save the planet!
The
other day, I got an email from Auntie M telling me she had a new tip for Hammertown and our readers. Her printer, she said, had run out of ink right in the middle of an important writing
project. "It was SO frustrating because it seemed I'd just put a new
one in...you know what I'm talking about!" Well, it turns out she found a quick...and LOCAL...solution in Millerton. And now Hammertown will be using them too! Read more...
