Hammertown's "Think Green Sale" celebrates Earth Day (April 22nd) with a sale every day in April. There are so many ways we can do some good for our earth...even while we shop!

Our first cooking class, "A Culinary Trip to Santa Fe" was a Mucho Grande Hit!
 This was our inaugural event in Hammertown's Cooking Classes at the Gatehouse series. And what a kick off it was!
All 11 students raved about everything. Local radio host, Sally
Spillane, kept the group engaged while showing off her formidable

This Week's Pick: Adjustable Industrial Stools
I love these industrial stools!
So much so, I have them in my own
kitchen around my island.
They are also going to be featured in the May issue of Elle Decor magazine. The issue features a Hammertown customer's home and she has these very stools in her kitchen as well.

the new book "A Way of Living" by Pia and Simon Pearce. It's a
wonderful book and it's now available at Hammertown!
I actually had this Sesame Chicken dish when I visited the Simon Pearce store in Vermont. It was absolutely delicious!

The woman behind the Hudson Valley Earth Day Celebration!
 One of the great things about working at Hammertown is all the people
you get to meet from so many walks of life. One of those is
world-renowned flutist, Eugenia Zukerman. She's not only a wonderful
customer, she's become a good friend. When we happened to mention we were
doing some features about Earth Day's 40th Birthday on our blog, she
told us that her sister, Laurie Rich, was heading up the Earth Day
Celebration at Dutchess County Fairgrounds. "You should call her!", she

 Sometimes I come across a place or a person or a business that I just
have to share with our readers. His name is Derek Scheer and he's a true craftsman and he's a
really nice guy! Hammertown had a problem last week where our front door (after 25 years)
