Rainwater Harvesting: Is it legal? Talking Green, Tuesday, August 24
Kevin Rein of the Colorado Division of Water Resources will explain the Colorado laws that allow for precipitation collection from a legal and permitting perspective at Yampa Valley Sustainability Council's Talking Green event from 5-7pm at La Montana (2500 Village Dr.). Happy hour and networking will start at 5pm and the presentation will begin at 6pm.

If you have ever kayaked before or had a friend or family member that has chances are Barry Smith was the instructor. This season is his 30th year teaching top quality Kayak lessons and he's still going strong.  He has taught just about everyone in town.

 

Mountain Sports Kayak school is located at 800 S. Lincoln Ave at the Hi Way Haus.  You can come and see not only whitewater kayaks but fishing kayaks, canoes, touring boats for our regional lakes and inflatable kayaks and canoes.

 

Due to the lowering of Stagecoach Reservoir the Yampa River will be flowing about 145 cubic feet per second more than the normal flow which is perfect for learning how to kayak.  Mountain Sports Kayak is having a dam release special.  Classes are reduced nearly half price for these 3 special sessions.

 

August 28 and 29 (Sat and Sun)   9-noon     $79

Sept 1, 2, 3 - evening class for working folks        $120

Sept 10, 11, 12 - Fri evening 5-8, Sa-Sun AM 9-12      $120
