Jennifer and her family joined Hearts of Hope over a year ago when her daughter Lily was diagnosed with TGA, VSD and pulmonary atresia. She has recently joined our team as
Membership Director and coordinates our parent matching program.

 Pulmonary atresia occurs when the pulmonary valve fails to form normally while the baby is in the mother's womb. It is quite rare comprising about 3% of all congenital heart defects.

The Heart of a Child is a non-profit organization benefiting children with congenital heart defects through Cardiovascular research at Children's Hospital of Michigan. Over the past 2 years, The Heart of a Child has donated $57,000 towards research.

 7 year old Tommy Schomaker and Ethan Bilpo, both  born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, joined in to celebrate the completion of the structural steel for the new Mott building at the University of Michigan.

Lastly, you are invited to share your child's story on our website which provides "hope" to new families beginning their heart journey.
