Recently, at The State of the Science conference in Washington, DC, Neurotech Network representative, Jennifer French, along with a panel of medical and engineering professionals presented their vision of Technology for Mobility in Spinal Cord Injury for the next decade. • Bio-Medical Research Ltd, recently introduced a new muscle rehabilitation device in their Neurotech division called Kneehab XP.  The device is a re-education and strengthening therapy for the quadricep. It joins the family of products which also includes AvivaStim XP, a neurostimulation device to reduce muscle atrophy.   
• IEEE.tv offers a web-based video titled "Accessing the Future". This video is based on the IEEE Accessing the Future: A Global Exploration for Accessibility in the Next Decade.View the video by clicking here.
• Brain Controlled Arm will enter human clinical trials this year. Funded by DARPA, the 22-degree-of-freedom Modular Prosthetic Limb was developed in a collaboration between Johns Hopkins University, University of Pittsburgh and California Institute of Technology. The device uses implanted electrode arrays to communication with a prosthetic arm.
• Recent news story featured Dr. Zaghoul Ahmed and Julia Giammona who has cerebral palsy and received a new treatment. Dr. Ahmed has treated seven people using a new electrical pulse system applied to the brain and spinal cord.  This research is in the very early stages of human clinical trials.
