Outreach with Education Series
With the help of our sponsors, granting foundations and variety of speakers, Neurotech Network has achieved our goal of hosting workshops and education sessions at 12 medical and disability community conferences in one year. See where we have been and new resources at the Conferences: Learn About section of our website.
Along our journey, we have learned some valuable lessons; such as
-
Our job of building awareness is far from over;
-
There are common questions about neurotechnology among the medical and disability communities;
-
Valuable contacts and connections were made in these face-to-face meetings;
-
Travel is expensive.
With all this in mind, we are exploring the option of moving the Neurotech Education Series to the web. If you have any ideas on this, please contact us and give us your input. Your ideas are welcome! |

Stand by Me!
Jen French is not only the Executive Director but also an active user of a Neural Prosthesis. She has had the implanted system for eleven years and it is now time for an upgrade. On August 30, Jen will be receiving the upgrade and begin working with a new system as a participant in a clinical trial.
The journey will be chronicled on the Cleveland FES Center website. It will contain journal entries from Jen during her pre-surgical preparation, surgery, recovery and rehabilitation with intermittent comments from the clinical team clarifying Jen's progress and experience. Learn about the technology and follow her progress. Click on the image below to link to the website.
