Excited about campCountdown for Camp: What you need to know this week
The word for the week at all of our camps is. . . . labels!
Each year you take the time to buy and pack all the things your child will need for camp - towels, shower caddies, toothbrush, shoes, etc. Take a few extra minutes when packing to make sure all of the items are clearly labeled.

Labelibg can be done with the traditional Sharpie or one of the great new iron-on or stick-on labels that are available.

Proper labeling will ensure that at the end of your camper's term, when you are looking at all items on the lost and found table, you will be the happy camper when you easily spot your child's gear.
When there is more than one: How to handle siblings and camp

If you have more than one child in the house, the decision to send a child to summer camp can beFishing at El Tesoro the begining of a summer traditon, a family legacy that each sibling looks forward to the day when it is their turn to go to camp.

As a parent or guardian, though, this can bring an added layer of thought and evaluation on what that summer camp experience for the children in your life looks like. Do they all go at the same time? Do they go to the same camp? How long should they go? What about the younger ones left at home?

A great article provided by the American Camp Association (ACA) guides parents of multiple campers with some great tips and pointers on how to handle a variety of situations from easing seperation anxiety of a younger sibling to considering persaonalities of each child to help guide your decisions.

In a nutshell if you have more than one camper, or future campers, in the house, you'll want to read this!
