Blanket Recall
Rashti & Rashti is recalling more than 44,0000 giraffe blankets, which were made in China and sold at Target stores between January and August of 2009.
The agency said that pieces of the giraffe's horns can fall off. No injuries have been reported.
Consumers should call Rashti & Rashti for a refund. The 14-inch-by-14-inch blankets were sold for about $9 each.

American Academy of Pediatrics Provides Disaster Preparedness Plans for Child Care Providers
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has developed a step-by-step disaster preparedness plan for child care providers in response to the potential of a pandemic flu crisis.

A needs assessment of 1,500 licensed child care centers in 2008 showed that more can be done to prepare the early education and child care community for a pandemic influenza.

Top choices for improving preparedness were participation in training sessions, use of print materials, and access to downloadable or interactive Web-based tools.

The information and preparation tips offerd on the AAP web site go beyond preparation for flu pandemics and are steps that can be taken and used in a variety of disaster and emergency situations.

Visit the website for steps to take, strategies offered and a list of online resources to support your plan and educate families who use your services.
