Summer ECMI Class Starting |
Use the first few weeks in June to get a jump start on your career training. Early Childhood Management Institutue, ECMI, will be accepting registrations until June 4 for the class that runs June 15 - 17 & 22 - 24.
The six-day, two week class prepares students for their Administrator's Credential Exam. From better understanding management styles, to staff motivation and communication, ECMI will give you tools to run your child care center or home professionally and efficiently.

American Academy of Pediatrics Provides Disaster Preparedness Plans for Child Care Providers |
| The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has developed a step-by-step disaster preparedness plan for child care providers in response to the potential of a pandemic flu crisis.
A needs assessment of 1,500 licensed child care centers in 2008 showed that more can be done to prepare the early education and child care community for a pandemic influenza.
Top choices for improving preparedness were participation in training sessions, use of print materials, and access to downloadable or interactive Web-based tools.
The information and preparation tips offerd on the AAP web site go beyond preparation for flu pandemics and are steps that can be taken and used in a variety of disaster and emergency situations.
