FCBC Update
March 19, 2010

Our mission is to develop devoted followers of Christ, connected in a unique community, with a passion for serving others.
Your weekly connection to Fairfax Circle Baptist Church.
  A Note from David...

We are having a special service this week to recognize some of the mission work we have been involved in recently and to begin preparing for other work that we will be doing this year and next.  I hope you will join us.

Coach Julia, our missionary with Uncharted Waters will be reporting on her work.  Jeff and Jamie Lindley will tell us about their Operation Christmas Child mission trip and will be talking about how you can be more involved in this ministry.  We will also have a report from HRW week and how we can be more involved with the homeless community on a more regular basis.

We are also planning some significant work in Kenya during the entire month of August and want to tell you about it and how you can participate.  So join us this Sunday as we celebrate the ways God has used us and allowed us to serve others and as we look to doing more in the future.  I'd also encourage you to get to church early and find your seat quickly.  The format for the service will be different than usual and you don't want to miss any of the speakers.

See you Sunday,

David

FUSION!!!

Fusion is our new Sunday afternoon program for families.  We are focusing on fusing families together in fellowship and faith.  Our first Fusion event is on April 11th.  We'll begin with a fellowship that will lead into our Fruits of the Spirit study.  Fusion is from 4-6pm each Sunday and is for kids, youth and their parents.  We have childcare for all ages! For our Fruits of the Spirit fellowship on the 11th, please bring a fruit pie or fruit salad to share.  See you there!

 Our Core Values:
We value...

...bringing people to Christ by overcoming obstacles and loving them as they are
...actively nurturing spiritual growth
...recognizing that every person is important and has a role to play
...serving the church, local community, and beyond
...strengthening families and developing the next  generation
All-Church
 Class 201
Growing Spiritually

This Sunday afternoon from 4-6, we are holding an exceptional session of Class 201. In Class 201, we examine the different spiritual habits every Christian needs to develop and maintain in order to grow spiritually.
This year, we're trying something different in that we're doing an
ALL CHURCH 201! This means that even if you've already been through 201, we'd like you to join us for a review, and if you haven't yet done Class 101, it's okay to skip that step.

Childcare is provided.

Welcome Ministry Training
Next Sunday, March 28th, immediately after the morning worship service a training session for anyone who would like to join the Welcome Ministry is being held in the Blue Room.  It is not too late to sign up to be a part of this ministry.  Greeters and Ushers are the first faces people see when they come to our door, so if representing the friendly face of our church appeals to you come to the training to learn more.  Please contact Carolyn Inman if you have any questions.
