FCBC Update
March 5, 2010

Our mission is to develop devoted followers of Christ, connected in a unique community, with a passion for serving others.
Your weekly connection to Fairfax Circle Baptist Church.
  A Note from David...

Last Sunday we kicked off a new series called A Day With God.  The idea is how do we take God with us as we go through life?  I hope you've put into practice, this week, at least one of the action steps from last Sunday's message.  Here's a review of the action steps, there might be a quiz this Sunday:  Shout It - words of worship, Feel It - words of worth, Hide it - God's word in my heart, and Say It - starting a conversation with God.

In this three week series, what we're talking about are some of the habits we need to have in our lives in order to grow spiritually the way God wants us to.  In fact this is going to be a major theme in our church for 2010 - spiritual habits that lead to spiritual growth.  I believe God has some great things planned for FCBC in the next few years.  Those plans are going to require spiritual maturity.

Here's another opportunity you have to build, rebuild, or confirm the spiritual habits in your life - CLASS 201.  We're trying something that we've never tried before.  We're doing an ALL CHURCH CLASS 201 and I hope you will participate.  Even if you've already been through 201 I hope you will join us for a review.

CLASS 201 will be in two weeks, Sunday, March 21 from 40in  Childcare is provided.  If you plan to attend or would like more info. please email me at david@fairfaxcirclechurch.org.

As we continue our series this week we will be talking about A Day With God: Once You Leave the House.  I hope you can join us.

See you Sunday,

David

Work Day-HRW

This Saturday, March 5 from 10am-1pm there is a Work Day at the church. Following this week's visit from the Fairfax County Fire Marshall, we have a list of jobs that need to be done in preparation for Hypothermia Relief Week which starts this Sunday!!  This is in addition to ensuring the kitchen and sleeping areas are clean and ready for our guests and other HRW related tasks.  Take a look at the list below.  Surely there is something YOU can do to help!

- Move the grill away from any building
- Cover the electrical outlet in the downstairs hallway
- Remove helium tanks from the KidZone storage area
- Remove bales of straw from the nursery porch
- Move fire extinguisher in KidZone.
- Move snow blower from between the doors near the worship center to the shed
- Check all exit and emergency lights and replace batteries as needed.
- Remove extension cords in the worship center near the baptistry
- Remove storage items from the mechanical room
- Move at least 1 pew out of Blue Room

- Move baby bed out of the infant/toddler room
- Set out Fire Marshall and FACETS-required signs

Hope to see you there!

 Our Core Values:
We value...

...bringing people to Christ by overcoming obstacles and loving them as they are
...actively nurturing spiritual growth
...recognizing that every person is important and has a role to play
...serving the church, local community, and beyond
...strengthening families and developing the next  generation
Now Recruiting
We are now recruiting Welcome Team members!  In a global strategy to improve the way we welcome visitors and help new members integrate our church family, the Connection Team is planning a training session for anyone who would like to join the Welcome Ministry.  The training will be held March 28th immediately after the morning worship service.  Greeters and Ushers are the first faces people see when they come to our door, so if you are gifted in hospitality, friendly, or just have a nice face... this may be the ministry for you!  Please contact Carolyn Inman if you would like to serve in this way, or if you have any questions.
