2008 is a "One" year (2 + 0 + 0 + 8 = 10; reduce 10 to one digit: 1 + 0 = 1). Numerology tells us a new cycle commences then. In 2008, we'll see the start of a significant shift when Pluto, the slowest "planet" in our (traditional) solar system, moving into a new sign, Capricorn. It spends more than a decade in a sign, so this is a major transition! Appearing to zigzag as it circles the zodiac (like all planets), it backtracks into Sagittarius for much of the second half of the year before settling into its new sign until 2024. This is the planet of transformation visiting the sign of structure and organization. Old systems will die and new rules will replace them, across the board as well as in our personal lives.

Jupiter leads the way, entering Capricorn Dec. 18, ahead of Pluto's entrance on Jan. 25. The Sun passes by Pluto on Dec 20 and then by Jupiter on 23. In between is the Winter Solstice on Dec. 22 (in Eastern and Central time zones, Dec. 21 in Mountain & Pacific time zones). This is a good time to ponder what systems you want to change most in your life and perhaps to take steps in a new direction.

If you know your chart, look to see where Capricorn begins. That's the area where you're slated for a new day to dawn. Check according to your Sun sign (or your Rising Sign, if you know it, for the Houses (departments of your life) most likely to be the area where Jupiter and Pluto give you a push this year: Aries 9th or 10th; Taurus 8th or 9th; Gemini 7th or 8th; Cancer 6th or 7th; Leo 5th or 6th; Virgo 4th or 5th; Libra 3rd or 4th; Scorpio 2nd or 3rd; Sagitarrius1st or 2nd; Capricorn 12th or 1st; Aquarius 11th or 12th; and Pisces 10th or 11th.
