PREMIUM PROPERTIES IN ISRAEL FOR SALE OR RENTAL
**************
Dear Friends:
I have an eye for "coincidental" juxtapositions, I find them too
interesting to pass up. Of course, to me, there are no coincidences.
As I was receiving emails from those who felt the earthquake tremor, I received the following email from Israel. I have had requests from many non-community or Israel charities to advertise with us since the beginning of the recession. My policy has been that our community needs every available dollar for charity these days, and I have turned down the requests.
When I felt the tremors of the earthquake, I had two children with me at home. I didnt know what it was, but I knew, even if it was merely my own home shaking, we should not be in it. So I grabbed my children and went to a neighbor, who then informed me that we were all feeling a quake.
It happened to us in less than 20 seconds, but we felt frightened, where do we go, where will we be safe.
Then I received the email from Israel Hatzalah regarding the missiles being tossed at our brethren day and night, intentionally by the Arabs who want to hurt us and our children, our friends and family in Israel.
In an earthquake, there is no place to go. The residents of Ashdod, Beer Sheva and Ashkelon can leave, they can go somewhere safer, but they stay. It is their home. They refuse to cower to the enemy.
They fight our fight daily.
So how do I feel "recuperating" from my 20 second tremor, while
their earth is intentionally rocked by enemy fire?
I received emails about an article I published about those who
are going on vacation, while there are residents here in the Five Towns
who are struggling to make ends meet.
But even those who are complaining about the "haves", are sitting
in homes worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, worrying about
a 20 second tremor and a little storm flooding.
It is a lesson to learn Erev Elul.
We are unhappy that we have
only $1, when we can give away ten cents.
We look at others and see how little we have.
We have to look at others who are fighting our battle
in our land, and see how much we have.
I have mentioned to many friends lately, that I was experiencing
the phenomenon of the story of the man who had a small house,
so he went to his Rabbi who told it to fill it with animals. When
it was full, the man complained even more that he had no room
in his house, whereupon the Rabbi told him to remove the animals,
and he found that his house was large.
In my opinion, why do we read Shir Hashirim on Pesach.
Matzoh is sustenance, the chametz that makes bread is a luxury,
we have to differentiate the sustenance from the luxury. It is the chometz, the always wanting more, that can interfere with our
relationship with G-d, make us unhappy with what he gives us.
On Pesach we remove the chametz barrier, we return to basics
and an appreciation of G-d's love for us and His redeeming us.
We needed a little shaking up today. We needed to experience
a little insecurity today- - can we sympathize a little more for those
whose ground is always shaking, and whose lives are always at stake.
It is almost the end of our year. Time to take stock of another year,
PLEASE LET'S FOCUS ON OUR BLESSINGS.
FOR THOSE WHO CAN, BEFORE GOING ON VACATION
MAKE A CHECK OUT TO TOMCHEI SHABBOS,
HATZOLOH, THE COMMUNITY CHEST PANTRY,
AND ALL OUR WONDERFUL GMACHS.
Yes, we felt a tremor, not the same one they feel in Israel.
But it is each person's tremor, to decide why they needed to
feel the tremor, like those who see a rainbow. Don't walk
through life like teflon, unaffected. We are affected, each
one of us, and our community here and in Israel want/need
to hear from us.
Figure out your tremor.
DIRSHU HASHEM B'HIMATZO, KRAUHU BEHIYOT KAROV
SEEK OUT G-D WHERE HE CAN BE FOUND, CALL FOR HIM
WHEN HE IS NEAR.
With all the best wishes
and with thanks to Hakadosh Baruch Hoo that it was merely
a small tremor, a little wake up call.

United Hatzalah Missile Attack Update
Grad Missiles in Ashdod, Beer Sheva & Ashkelon
Dear Friends and Supporters,
Once again I reach out to you to advise you of the facts on the ground and the perspective from the field. At least twelve 122 mm Grad rockets were fired from Gaza into the southern heartland of Israel. Dozens of United Hatzalah medics from Ashdod and neighboring areas responded to the missile strikes. Many simply ran to the scene from their nearby homes. Most of the missiles fell into open areas, one slammed into a synagogue but failed to explode and one exploded in Ashdod seriously injuring 2 people. The individuals suffered stomach and chest shrapnel injuries from the ball bearings packed in the missile. Another 5 individuals were lightly injured and others were treated for shock.
United Hatzalah had already distributed numerous sets of personal armor in the southern region but the scope of conflict region now includes many additional medics. ALL remaining sets have been pulled from strategic reserve in our Jerusalem headquarters for distribution to our volunteers in Ashdod and Ashkelon. Many of you have visited our headquarters, have tried on the armor and have gained an appreciation for the challenges of our medics in this region (particularly during the heat of the summer in Southern Israel). We don't know where the next missile will strike, we don't know how many people may be injured but we do know that United Hatzalah volunteers will be first on the scene.
Please help us make sure that we know that we can protect them in the best way possible. With your help we know the answer. Click here now to help save those who save others.
May we all have a quiet, peaceful and enjoyable Shabbat Shalom
Sincerely,
Eli Beer

Tzachi Hanegbi says Israel should "destroy the Iranian kingdom in southern Israel."
The 5 minute video dicusses the risks of a hurricane hitting us, and what should be done NOW to prepare for the possibility.
