WOW! Women On Writing announces Meredith Zeitlin's blog tour!

Blog Tour dates:
February 20, 2012 - March 16, 2012

Come and join the fun! Meet Meredith and visit her fabulous blog hostesses.

Hi ,

When was the first time you made what you thought was the perfect plan? Was it a "Snag a Prom Date" plan? A New Year's Exercise Resolution? A 5-Year Career Plan? The problem is, the rest of the world isn't privy to our marvelous plans. And too frequently, the world refuses to cooperate!

At some point in everyone's life they realize that even the best laid plans often go...awry. Some of us learn earlier than others. Our newest blog tour is about an early bloomer--as far as plans go. Kelsey Finkelstein has plenty of starting high school plans. Now if the world would cooperate! Even those of us who closed the doors on high school long ago will enjoy this walk down memory lane or introducing this new YA writer to the teen in our life.

  Meet Meredith Zeitlin

Meredith Zeitlin About the author:

Meredith Zeitlin is a writer and voiceover artist who lives in Brooklyn with two adorable feline roommates. She also writes a column for Ladygunn Magazine, changes her hair color every few months, and has many fancy pairs of spectacles.

In case you're wondering whether any of Kelsey's experiences are based on Meredith's own, the answer is NO WAY. When she was fourteen, Meredith looked and behaved perfectly at all times, was never in a single embarrassing situation, and always rode to school on her very own unicorn.

About Freshman Year & Other Unnatural Disasters

Freshman Year and Other Unnatural Disasters Freshman Year & Other Unnatural Disasters

by Meredith Zeitlin

Let's say you're fourteen and live in New York City. You'd think your life would be like a glamorous TV show, right? And yet... You don't have a checking account, much less a personal Black American Express Card. You've never been to a club, and the only couture in your closet is a Halloween costume your mom made from an old laundry bag.

In other words? You're Kelsey Finkelstein--fourteen and frustrated. Every time she tries to live up to her awesome potential, her plans are foiled. Kelsey wants to rebrand herself for high school to make the kind of mark she knows is her destiny. But just because Kelsey has a plan for greatness...it doesn't mean the rest of the world is in on it.

Kelsey's hilarious commentary and sardonic narration of her freshman year will have readers laughing out loud--while being thankful that they're not in her shoes, of course.

Lisa De NikolitsAbout the Author:

Originally from South Africa, Lisa has been a Canadian citizen since 2003--although she still retains a lilting voice that causes fellow Canadians to ask, "You aren't from Canada, eh?" With a Bachelor's of Arts in English Literature and Philosophy, Lisa has also lived and worked in the United States, Australia, and Great Britain.

Lisa thought she was on her way to fame and fortune when the South African edition of Cosmopolitan bought two of her poems in 1986. Sadly, the road to being a published writer was not as easy as she had hoped! Throughout her writing career, Lisa has tried her hand at everything from children's picture books to short stories to novellas to feature magazine articles. Her first novel, The Hungry Mirror, which won an IPPY Gold Medal for Women's Fiction 2011, was inspired by her work as art director for magazines including Vogue and Marie Claire. Lisa is now working on her next novel, Between the Cracks She Fell

Caring Lessons

Tour Dates: March 12, 2012 -April 13, 2012

Title: Caring Lessons

Author: Lois Roelofs

Genre: Memoir

Synopsis:
Lois Roelofs describes herself as a rebellious minister's daughter, a reluctant nurse, a restless mom, and a perpetual student who eventually became a fun-loving teacher of mental health nursing. During her forty-year nursing career, she cared for patients and taught nursing students in primarily mental health and medical-surgical settings. As a caregiver, she learned the value of caring for herself and did so by changing jobs to suit her interests, going back to school more than once to feed her crave for learning, and seeking professional help when personal and family crises invaded her life.

You will be amused, saddened, and inspired as you read this intimate and introspective memoir. Plus you will learn the importance of faith, family, and friendship--whatever your profession--and come away with a new appreciation of caring for yourself as well as caring for others.

Participate!  Please  email us with "Blog Tour Partnership" in the subject line and your available dates. We schedule 2-3 stops per week from March 12 - April 13. You will receive a copy of Caring Lessons by Lois Roelofs. We look forward to hearing from you!

-----

Lois RoelofsAbout the Author:

Lois long to fly the friendly skies but in 1968 minister's daughters did not become stewardesses. They chose practical careers like teaching or nursing. For the entire first year of nursing school, Lois made weekly calls home to beg her parents to let her come home. Then her instructors decided she had a "bad attitude." Despite her lukewarm feelings about a nursing career Lois set out to prove those cranky old instructors wrong.

Lois's attitude, as well as her feelings about nursing, changed radically during her over thirty-year career. She retired in the year 2000 as professor emerita from Trinity Christian College with Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral degrees in nursing. But even that wasn't enough classroom time for Lois. She recently completed three years of the University of Chicago Basic Program of Liberal Education for Adults. She now spends her days writing and being a happy grandma.

-----

Ruth KaiserAbout the Author:

Ruth is proud to be a self-proclaimed, happy-go-lucky, cockeyed optimist. Also known as a Pollyanna, a goofball, and little Miss Sunshine, Ruth is an easy breezy, cup runneth over, top of the world, outgoing, people loving, fun seeking gal. This perky gregarious, cracking herself up child at heart is filled with gratitude every minute of every day!

She is mom to three of the greatest kids ever who, even though they are all out in the world pretending to be grown-ups, will always be her babies. To pay for all those kids' college tuitions, Ruth owns a small chain of preschools called TOT DROP where for 18 years she has been known and loved as "Teacher Ruth" by hundreds of preschoolers and their parents. To quote one of her mommies, "Everyone should have a 'Teacher Ruth' in their life!"

Although completely allergic to cats, she is also completely enamored with them. So Philbert, Noodle, Rooster, and Mr. Simon have the run of the house and Ruth sits on a plastic chair and washes her hands a hundred times a day.

Ruth studied art at the University of California at Berkeley, but really believes that everyone is an artist. With excitement she proclaims, "How cool is it that the Internet has given us all an avenue to share our art!"

Smile. Be happy!
It's a choice you can choose.
Give it a try,
You've got nothing to lose.
