Come and join the fun! Meet Rachel and visit her fabulous blog hostesses.

Dear ,

We're thrilled to announce the launch of author and illustrator Rachel Dillon's Blog Tour with WOW! Women On Writing. Stop by The Muffin today and comment for a chance to win a signed copy of Rachel's book! Rachel will be checking in to answer your questions, so be sure to take advantage of the opportunty. Her book is absolutely gorgeous, filled with beautiful paintings and poetry--it's a book I know you will love.

I know some of you must be wondering...what exactly is a blog tour?

A blog tour is similar to an author's book tour, but it's hosted online, instead of at, say, a bookstore. The touring author visits a number of blogs (otherwise known as "blog stops") over a set period--typically, a month.

Rachel Dillon's painting of a pandaAuthors use this format to buzz their book, connect with readers, and have fun! It's a wonderful way to network with a readership the author might never get to meet in "real" life. For instance, this tour takes us all across the country in one month! Even the most gregarious traveler couldn't conquer that much territory in such a short time. But it's not about the territory covered, it's about the interesting people you meet along the way.

(Picture Right: Rachel's painting of a panda entitled, "Lazy Afternoon")

The author we bring you this month is a wonderful painter, a poet, and a children's book writer for a good cause. We're proud to be launching her tour.

Are you excited?
I am! Come and join us on this fabulous journey! Let's meet the author, shall we?

~ Angela & Jodi ~ (Your hostesses)

Meet Rachel Dillon

Rachel DillonAbout Rachel:

Outside of art, Dillon held a special interest in evolution and extinction and took several classes in paleontology, and geology. By Rachel Dillon (author and illustrator)

There are 1208 species on the Threatened and Endangered Species List compiled by the US Fish and Wildlife Service. How many can you name?

Take a journey across land and sea to meet twenty-one endangered and threatened animals, from the mighty polar bear to the tiny Corroboree frog, the massive humpback whale to the mysterious snow leopard. About Gayle Trent: I'm a full-time freelance writer, editor and author living in Virginia. I have a terrific husband and two wonderful children who are, by the way, boy/girl twins. I love writing, reading, baking, cake decorating and, sometimes, needle crafts. I prefer almost instant gratification with my needlework, though. I have a cross-stitch picture I've been working on for years; but in the meantime, I've finished several pieces that can be done in an afternoon.

My cozy mystery MURDER TAKES THE CAKE was released by Bell Bridge Books in October of 2008. My heroine in MURDER TAKES THE CAKE has her own site. Check it out at Daphne's Delectable Cakes. I also have a Squidoo lens for Freelance and Novel Writing; so, if you're a writer, surf on over to that page.
